View Full Version : The Foyt Futility Watch -- Homestead Edition
They're back and probably worse than ever! This season Sammich is running noted Brazilan short strack star Felipe Giaffone in the #14 ABC Gum/Foyt Racing entry. The check has cleared and the team is ready for the Futility to start at 10.30 am ET.
Stop by for news and quips and jibes as frequently as you want. Or not. I'm sure you all have better things to do over the weekend. But I'll be here taking one for the rest of the members.

Could some math whiz please explain the figures following Lazier's name, after the car #? If he averages 1/10,000 of a mile per hour, how long would it take to finish a 500 mile race?

Overheard crew member: "Does he realize he has a ride this year?"
He might still be at the top of the run in Colorado waiting for Ank, Spicoli and Skaven. [wink, wink] "Yes, go ahead of us, we'll catch up". [/wink, wink]

Ah! I love the sight of Futility in the morning!
Ah, Marco in perfect position to ram Cheever thus validating Eddie's Daytona comment!
Looks like Danica has maintained her form over the off-season.
And in a 2 1/2 hr. race Chesson is only lapped 15 times? (I think I'm finally getting the hang of this TI-1795. What year was THAT!?)

Oh, how the times they are a changin'.....
BTW, in IPS practice, Arie Luyendyk, Jr. still sucks. DFL!
So, you are saying he is in the correct feeder series, then?
Patrick, you know, and, you know form are you know, mutually exclusive. You know?

Did Foyt do any off season testing or is Homestead practice it?
Did Foyt do any off season testing or is Homestead practice it?
Foyt Racing was Futile at both Phoenix and Homestead (road course) open testing. They rolled out of the trailer and immediately were battling with Dana and Lazier for last place.

I've got 3-1 odds its Danicle as she takes a mid race stop for tires as she does her trademark fade to the back of the field early on in the race. Using an "off-pit" strategy may get her into the lead, and create headlines for the entire racing world "Danicle, Leading, gets punted by PJ"
Then, I've got 6-1 that she gets into a verbal \ physical altercation with PJ in the ambulance on the trip back to the medical ctr, and tells him that she already kicked ass on one Nancy boy and he's gonna be #2...
The EARL - "Creating new headlines every day" ! :gomer:
Still Futile in Practice 3
17 14 Giaffone, Felipe D/H/F 24.9912 213.915 28
3.5mph and .5 sec slower that P1.
Meanwhile, Special Ed is P16 while his teammate is P4.
Meira is in P19, but it looks like Panther's backup car is a Panoz!

Just in case anybody cares, AJ IV placed 35th in some snowmobile race down in Tennessee.

Kanaan stuffs it coming into the pits.....minor impact. Goodyear and Wallace think he stabbed the throttle and spun. To me it sounds like he just downshifted and the rear wheels locked momentarily, and perhaps blipped the throttle.
Anyways, looks like he could've saved it if he kept all the tires locked up.
