Without a doubt the biggest upset in college hockey history since they went to the single elimination format, and it is so much more sweeter because those arrogant rodents lost. Way to go Atlantic Hockey, this is like Patriot League autobid beating UConn in the first round.

Minnesota now wishes they had recruited one Ian Lai in goal... he would've been program savior :gomer:

the souix looked great this weekend, 13 freshman, and the kid toews is going to be great, only 17, UND is loaded with talent and Pairse is playing real well, UND looks to be the favorite and if they can just keep these kids for a year or 2, , and the palace in grand forks, what a recruiting tool.

I only saw the Holy Cross game this past weekend and I can say that Oshie is a threat to jump after this year. He single handedly beat Kato in the first round of the playoffs and was beating on guys Saturday evening. I would have to disagree about Parise on Saturday, he was overplaying about every shot and was really lucky that he wasn't play a better team. Mini Parise will be in trouble in the Frozen Four if he plays like he did on Saturday. I don't think you will have to worry about Toews (Tays for those of you who want to know how to pronounce it, and don't ask me how it can be pronounced that way) going pro for a couple years because he is fairly small.
I love the picture because it is so true.

UND has more than talent than anyone else but they weren't nearly as impressive over the weekend as the team they are playing in Milwaukee. BC absolutely killed the two teams they played, they managed to get that sieve Cory Schneider 2 shutouts. UND played a weak Michigan team and let the 15 seed stay with them for 2 periods. If Parise keeps overplaying every shot he won't have a chance in hell again BC.
Imperial Palace is still a disgrace to the Vegas strip. :gomer:

I think both of the out east teams will match up well with the WCHA teams, so it should be one cracker of a Frozen Four. Wisconsin might be hurting without Robbie Earl depending on how bad his leg injury is, and when I mean hurting they may not be able to get perfect 10s in the high dive portion of the Frozen Four. If Parise looks like a chicken with his head cut off like he did against Holy Cross, BC will fnish them off despite the offensive power of the Sioux.
1.7million dollars, lol, replace the decimal point with a zero and you have how much he gave to the school. The donation to build the worldest greatest hockey arena was and still is commensorate on the Sioux never changing their nickname. The arena is great, no doubt about it, but there is also no doubt that ol' Ralph clearly had National Socialist sympathies.

and hockey east has done what against WCHA schools nothing, , Denver got screwed and they made sure this year a east team got in, i really don't know how engelstad has to do with UND , but some have to inject the politics, the players don't give a rats ass, but if ya hate the soiux for being good, go ahead, BC played against a poor field , yep und is playing poor, they have beaten Wisc, Mich, HC, Minn, st, cloud, i believe thats legitimate , yea BC really has a chance, they were dominate over Mich and HC, let me know when hickey east can bet a west team, it's been years and all the wimps from the east do is bitch every year when the wcha teams beats thier butts. 1.7 was the fine by nevada gaming commish against engelstad, the palace cost 110 mil, and f the ncaa to for trying to take the logo

1. that quote of mine flew completely over your head... trust me, it's funny :)
2.
if it keeps the talent flowing up there, keep on slamming
nice to see what price you put on winning... "To Adolph, From Ralphie" ;)

1 national title and 2 runners up, , 1st the ncaa wants to get rid of the logo, now people drudge up crap on the arena, take a look on what the other schools had to say on how they were treated last weekend, inch said it was the best venue and host, we could have been like vancover fans during the world jr's, now that was classless, we didn't condone what engelstad did in vegas, besides UNd they also gave $$ to east grand forks to build an arena, , now back to the tourney, i just see a badger and und final, UND is so fast and on a streak right now, and the frosh are playing real well, f 13 frosh, it's amazing that they are playing this well, it's the best talent they have had, and i hear next year the incoming class is talented also, heck the have 6 nhl 1st round picks on this team,

Say what you want about the Imperial Palace (and I'd rather talk about that place than my Wolverines) but the place sure is unique. I'm gonna miss it when Harrah's blows it up next year. (Not that I can blame them.)
I was there just last week (just passing through), and there's just something about the place. Maybe it's the "dealertainers," or maybe it's the Elvis impersonator out front (I asked him how he got the job and he said, "I just applied for it"), or maybe its the adventure of finding an exit after you go up that escalator out front, or maybe it's Kung Fu Movie decor, or maybe its the world's least subtle casino hookers hanging out at the bar. What other casino offers all that?

Trauma1 stop being a homer. Mini Parise did not look sharp last weekend, and if he does not get back to how he was against Kato and at the end of the year there could be trouble in the semi-final. I had the opportunity to watch part of the BC-BU game and College is much faster and physical than Holy Cross, and let's not forget that the Bradley Center is going to be a lot less hospital than the Ralph.
My distaste for UND has nothing to do with them being good, it has to do with me waiting in line for 90 minutes for tickets, then waiting outside in subzero temps for two hours, and then getting jacked in the head intentionally with a puck lobbed up into the stands by one of your jerkoff d-men in warmups. Three staples later we are all good but I still had to miss half of the game, and don't tell me it wasn't intentional because people were dropping like flies all warmups, including a girl that put one in the grill and required dental surgery.
Denver didn't get screwed out of a tournament position, they didn't get the job done in non-conference play and neither did any other WCHA team. The beauty of the hockey system is its transparency, ever single team knows what they have to do to make it into the tournament, and Denver didn't do that. No one in the WCHA should complain about how many teams got in, if we play well in the non-conference we should be guarateed five to six bids a year.

February 2003, and don't tell me I should get over it. Any program that consistently recruits goons is no place I can have much love for. On the bright side we crushed the Sioux that night, and I still can't imagine how terrible the beat down would have been if our players would have known of the disrespect your team was showing to our fans. I had class with a couple guys and they were ready to murder your d-men after hearing what happened to the student section.

The Palace was where we stayed on our first trip to Vegas. The price was right and at the time it really wasn't that bad a place to stay - decent gaming and a great location on the strip.
Since then we've spoiled by a couple of stays at the MGM Grand and when we wandered back through the Palace we kind of wondered whether it wasn't time to tear the place down.
Do the still have the car collection there?
The cars are still there, and the gaming isn't nearly as good. Most of the blackjack was 6-5, even the tables that didn't have a bad impression of a "star" doing the dealing.
Part of our stay was in the West Wing at MGM Grand. The old Emerald Tower is pretty darned cool now. Like a little boutique hotel off in a corner of the MGM Grand. (And, there's a hidden entrance right off the strip.) I highly reccomend it.

sorry to hear that, sadly there ar a hole everywhere, we think we treat visitors better than that in ND and hopefull the rest of the visit went better, as for the goons in 2000 they had alot of problems with that team and unsure if it and a factor in Blaise leaving, there was some concerns on his oversight of players and behavior, this didn't happen with Gino there or now with Haskol, from the reports the regions were well behaved and sounds like people got treated well the way it should of happened with you in 2000, this group of kids they have now are a good bunch

Just dropped the puck for the first semi-final of the Frozen Four. The event looks to be a success judging by the fact that traffic was backed up past my apartment 90 minutes before the start.

speakng of the frozen four,
gary thorne = voice of american hockey
it was worth watching that abortion of game one just to hear the man call a hockey game again. it would have been better if bill clement was in the booth and it was bucci, melrose and chicken parm in the studio for intermission reports but it was hockey on national cable tv done right. espn does hockey better than anyone else by far and the nhl just had to go and piss them off. :shakehead
and of game one, my god, what the hell was north dakota doing all game? we don't get college hockey here except when it's on espn/2 but that has to be the worst i have ever seen north dakota hockey play when they have been on tv.
who won game two?

haskol better get his act together, gino was fired for less, the last 2 years he's had the best talent in the land and in the final four is blowing it, stupid turnovers and you guys were right praise let in a bunch of soft goals, with that talent they should have beat BU just stupid penalities and turnovers, if haskol blows it next year he's out, remember he wasn't the most popular pick and people in grand forks were pissed he got the job, toews was the only one who showed up to play, wissc with the home ice should win this , if they don't it's a chock job

Question: Are the nets in college hockey further away from the boards than in the NHL?
Tifosi24

How can you hate on Hakstol? He made it to the Frozen Four in his first two years, it sounds like the Sue fans have Cornhuskers disease. I would keep Hakstol, or you are gonna end up like Nebraska with its revolving door of coaches and consistent finishes at the bottom of the table.
And TKGAngel, the nets in college hockey are the same distance from the boards as in the NHL. The only time there would be a difference is if the teams play on Olympic sized ice, which is actually what the NCAA handbook calls for, but far less than half of college teams play on the big ice.

Maybe it was the camera angle, but the 2 minutes I saw of last night's game made it look like the net was at least a foot further out from the boards.
