Let's suppose this merger happens. It's called "IndyCar" but with the turbo DP01 and a mix of ovals and roads. We're all on the same page cheering for the same series. Hopefully :)
Think about this... suppose the series is making strides at getting at least back to popularity levels. Which series likely would put more butts in seats for the IMS road course... IndyCar or F1?
Even if IndyCar could *match* F1's attendance, it's already more profitable because the money stays in the Hulman's pockets (instead of Bernie's) which can be put back into promoting the IndyCar series.
And the beauty of a turbo is that if you crank up the boost enough for a "test run" the DP01 IndyCar might even be able to beat the F1 road-course track record... howzabout that for bragging rights? And with a car that doesn't cost a small country's GNP! Would Bernie be pleased? :)
Your opinions... dump F1 ...and have IndyCar as the season-ender in late Sept on the IMS road course?
