I would be surprised if it were any different. Wheel-Nut, did you really think you would be able to carry in your own beer or whatever?

I think we are all being shafted by the fact we can't bring in firearms. I don't know what to do with myself if I ain't packing heat.

i don't mind buying beer, it's the old argument of paying $4 for a bottle of water that rubs my a$$ raw!! At the previous races you could bring in a cooler under the 14" size. Even IMS lets you bring in your own drinks!!

I wonder if they can stop you from carrying if you have a concealed carry permit?

Ok, I didn't remember coolers being allowed at the last race.

In Houston? I didn't see any when I was there. Of course I was either passed out due to the heat & humidity, or busy rowing to my seats when I was there. :saywhat:

 nancy...

Personally, I'm used to such blatant commercialism & profiteering that banning anything beyond a couple of bottles of water seems fair enough. :gomer: 2nd year of school they basically used 9/11 to begin banning people from bringing into Memorial Stadium 99% of what was previously allowable, used to duck out at halftime to grab one of those mega huge Dasani bottles from the dorms across the street until they nixed that

Blame 911 for stupid draconian security precautions and opportunitisic greedy event organizers using them as an excuse to force you to use their consessions.

BTW, Last week I took the kids to a Yankees game. Their website said I could bring in a purse or childs backpack.

OK so I am in line to go through security and my 7 year old has his little orange (CC) backback. The guard feels it and asks what's in it. I tell him a few windbreakers for the kids, some medicine and snacks for the kids. No problem.

Right next to me there are two couples trying to get in. One of the guys has this small backpack no bigger than mine. "Can't bring that in" says the guard. "But it just has some sweatshirts and water in it", he comes back. The guard tells him to take it back to his car. When I left the guy was crying that he came on the subway, not a car.

More.

Last year I went to a Giants game at the Meadowlands. My 12 year old was carrying a bottle of water. At security he was told he could only bring it in if he removed the cap and threw it away. Can't have us throwing full, capped bottles of water at the stray Eagles fan that might find their way to the Stadium I guess

For the guns that you can't bring in. ;)

Everytime I bring someone new into Mid-Ohio, they still can't believe you can walk around the property with an open container, from a cooler that wasn't even checked when you got to the gate. Hell, what is there stopping you from wandering around M-O and RA with a bottle of Jack?

I've been to Road America many times and know I can drive in with whatever I want. We take in the makings for Bloody Marys every morning. But at a temporary street course?

I agree with Wheel-Nut that water should be allowed. I wonder how strict the security folks will actually be.

for cruise ships when you're bringing stuff back on board, you have a 6 or whatever of water, all vodka, 1 water, the guy asks to smell it when you're getting back on board and you open the ringer for him :gomer:
