One of the lesser-known angles to PKV's three car effort at Long Beach is that it was aided and abetted by some of Vasser's old pals at Target/Ganassi Racing.
"Thank God for friends in racing like Chip," Vasser says. "Otherwise we'd have been trying to pick up one piece here and another piece over there. . . It would have been a lot more difficult.
"He loaned us the the trailer, the pit carts, radios, the whole shooting match. We just went over and picked everything up. In one afternoon we had it all handled. After that it was just some small things with the car. But, like I said, if we want to run a three car team we have to tool up to run a third car and not be reducing the potential effort of Oriol and Katherine's programs."
