I opened today's Newark Star Ledger (Tony Soprano's favorite paper) and on the front of the sports page (but below the fold) is a large feature on Danica titlled Va Va Va Vroom. Continues on for about six full columns. Surprisingly it is even by a staff writer, not an AP piece rehashing an IRL press release.
Fair, balanced stuff about how her handlers are using sex appeal to sell her but that she hasn't yet won a race. All stuff we've seen before,
And there is an article about her today in the Parade magazine.
But nowhere in the paper is there word one about yesterday's time trials or who is on pole for the I500.
Grated this is a subway series weekend, but not one word. Has the 500 become so irrelevant that Danica is the ONLY story? Merger or no, open wheel is in a sad state.
There is mention that that CCWS has a race today. :)
