Did I just hear that right. 400,000 people at Indy? Or was that the number of tickets TG bought.
BIfmath - a lesser cousin to Gomermath - neither known for accuaracy. :gomer:
That number has been thrown out for years. Used to be close to a real number back in the day when the infield was completely open for business. Not so now.

Rusty Wallace said it - does that make it Nastard math? :gomer:
If you consider that the average male weighs 175 lbs, and you add the total weight of the people at the Indy 500 today, devide by 175, you get 400,000 people.

I heard 300,000 earlier.
when the broadcast started they said over 400,000 and then later they changed it to over 300,000.

people left when they found out it wasn't the Brickyard 400.
There are HUGE sections of unpopulated aluminum in Turn 3 and in the short chute heading into 4. :shakehead

Yup. Copter cam showed that pretty good. :saywhat:

Those areas in 3 and the short chute have been empty now for around 4 or 5 years. I noticed the blight has moved further into the NW vista this year.

Well Rusty just called it the Dayotna 500 so whats the difference?
I saw lots of empties low in the tower terrace and all around the track. I actually think attendance this year may have been the worst yet.

I heard Danica finally won, did she?
I heard Danica finally won, did she?
Nope. Had there not been a yellow she would've been lapped by Wheldon.
At the green, she charged to mid pack, tewled around there. Waited for guys in front to fall out. Actually passed a few guys who were in fuel conservation mode. Her usual MO.
At the end of the day, she was never a factor.
Marco OTOH   The kid impressed me big time.

Mike King on the radio broadcast insisted that 350,000 was on hand today. :gomer: I will admit that there wasn't as much bare Alum as I had thought there would be. Was Mr. Spicoli in attendance this year??
Spicoli

Back when attendance was good it wasn't far off of 250,000. Now there is no way it is north of 200k.
