From someone who has to adjust spam filters on a daily basis at work, I wish more people would post spammers identities. It is the plague of the internet.

Add my vote to the "i hate spam" section!!!!

its so hard to try and stop spamming, cause you don't even need a domain or email address to send from! so you can only track it back to an ip address which is easy enough to fake!

Interesting read. I hate spam.:mad: What programs do you folk use to fight back? I use Mailwasher Pro for Outlook and Hotmail. Seems to work ok but I find I can only bounce half the spam as they have dud email addys.

I use Spybot Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.net/files/spybotsd12.exe) (auto-installer link). It seems to keep me from getting on mail lists in the first place.

I used to have a big problem when I was on a dail up account but, since I have switched to RoadRunner, no spam what so ever in the last year. I think that MSN was selling the email list to anybody that wanted to enlarge my penis, sell me viagra, mortgage my house or thought I needed to lose weight.


Anyway, Search and Destroy 1.2 has a new feature that will immunize your machine and not allow the spy programs to land in the first place so, if you forget to run the program for a while you aren't risking all that much.

No spit? I have MSN, and dial-up, and I get a boat load of these. I always try to click on the removal link (if available) and they still keep coming.

I can't wait until my MSN contract is up.

Here is some food for thought.

I've had MSN for a couple years now, and we never really used it until we upgraded to Broadband in October. I changed my e-mail address to the current one, and I never got junk mail. When we moved, MSN Broadband wasn't available at the new house and we changed to Cox HSI (which is much better anyway). I tried using my cox.net e-mail address for a few days but I figure that it is just easier to stick with my msn.com one. But, since October, I get almost 3 junk mails a day. I know its not much compared to what others get (I got 25 a day by the time I canceled AOL!), but I wonder why I didn't get anything like this before the cancellation.
