They also pointed out this site here which made a full length interenet movie that is supposed to be good. But it's their new project that has me intrigued...Nazi's managed to get to the moon....now they're coming back!

Dad of the century!!!OK, funny, but...
Hope he feels better.
Seems he is setting himself up for a lot of resentments and disappointment.
And displaying great parenting that he hopes his daughter will copy and use with his grandkids. Not. Might have something to do with why he was out of the house when he was 15.
And he may need a little help wiping his ass some day. I know I won't be wiping it.
There's an old fable, or whatever you want to call it. A farmer's father has become old and frail and a burden on the family. Eventually the farmer says to his son to take grandpa out to the barn, wrap him in their best horse blanket and leave him to die. Feeling guilty, he goes to check on the grandpa and finds that the grandson has cut the blanket in half. Furious he screams at the kid about how he could have left his grandpa with only half a blanket. The kids, tears up and pleads with the dad saying, "But Dad I was saving the other half for you."
Yeah, no shat.
And another... true story. I have a friend who travels a lot. One thing that drove him crazy was that his teenage kids would not take the garbage cans out to the end of the driveway. He would drive for hours home, just knowing that when he pulled in the driveway the cans would not be there. He would have worked himself into a fury before he ever got home. And then he would get drunk. The kids hated him.
Eventually someone pointed out that if it was so important to him, why wouldn't he just take the cans out himself. It only took a few minutes, just as this dude said. What's the problem? And he quit drinking.
Fast forward about 15 years, his sons are grown and don't even live with him but if they know he is traveling they will come over and haul his cans out for him. And they love him and want to spend time with him.
This guy, not so much I bet. Family members will disappoint. It happens. It just shouldn't happen when it really matters and you have no one else to count on. Don't ruin your powder on the stupid stuff.
And Trevor, if you read this, you and Nick still need to take the cans up on Thursday nights. But we can talk about it without involving firearms and public humiliation. :D
OK, that's just my 2c and advice. Rant off.

Too many folks forget that the goal of parenting is not to make your own life easy and comfortable, or to feel good about yourself, but to play your part in the growth of an independent adult. The traits which make for a compliant and easy child to raise are not the same traits which make for a powerful and successful adult. </offsoapbox>

Eggxactly. Redneck probably ignored his daughter up until now except to bitch at her. If you are involved in your children's lives from day one, do things as a family, share responsibilities and listen to each other, things do not get out of control like that.

"Modern" parenting raises ill-prepared kids who can't do anything and have no skills because they're protected from even LEARNING them until 18 years old, at which time you want us parents to throw them out into the world, send them off to college, and expect them to be productive members of society? You can take your "modern" parenting, and shove it. Jeezus people. Half of you think chores at 15 are too much! God forbid we make them actually WORK too!

I only wish I got to see these places in person. I grew up in the shadows of Langhorne. My Dad was not a real race fan - never got to see anything until I was able to go on my own.
In high school, I used to work at the KMart that sits on the front half of what was Langhorne. The back half is still vacant. My neighbors talked about going to races there - crazy place.

I missed that race and the other at Trenton that year. I was at school in Michigan's UP.
I was a big Ongias fan in those days.(anybody but Foyt and an Unser) Loved the Interscope Racing look. And the Jones car was so fast! Saw him take pole at Pocono that summer.
Trenton got turned into a mall -- which went bankrupt and stood as a major eye soar for years. Now a J&J heir turned it into a "Sculpture Garden".
OK... but I'd like to have a race track closer to me.

Maybe this got a lot of play when it came out a couple of years ago but I have not heard of this until today. The film is from July 21, 1941 in Amsterdam of a newly married couple, the bride who lived on the second floor of Merwedeplein 39. At that time Anne Frank’s family lived on the second floor of Merwedeplein 37. This is the only know video with Anne in it.

I've been there. Well, not there. More like a run down bar with busted up couches and a tiny platform for a stage. Then this tiny mop-haired chick comes out and fills the room with the pure beauty of her voice and the absolute rush of her performance. You're completely enveloped and when it's over you're left kind of stunned and looking around at people room trying to figure out if what you just felt really happened.
L.P. disappeared from the dive bar touring circuit for about six years while a couple of different indie labels tried to package her for TV theme song duty. Now giant, evil, Warner Brothers has her, and while I'm sure they'll do the same, at least they have the sense to present her in a format were her real talent shines through.
