Looks like the guy filming is a jerk who is blocking the left lane at 55. Then when the guy goes to pass him, he gasses it to try to block him from passing. He deserves the finger.

Guy is a woman. Yeah, true karma would only be served in this case if someone had then rear-ended the woman when she stopped on the roadway to gloat over the accident that she helped to precipitate. There's no justifying the tailgater's behavior, but someone who provokes the whole situation while operating her phone to record the other driver's reaction doesn't exactly hold the safe driver moral high ground.

It's nowhere near that complicated. It was simple satire, illustrating the idiocy of an (unintentionally offensive, ostensibly anyway) perspective by comparison with a fictional and deliberately offensive analog. Frankly, coming away from that with the conclusion that Colbert's writers were doing anything other than ridiculing such stuff requires some fancy mental footwork indeed.

There's no shortage of knives out, obviously, but it's hard not to see that as more opportunism than sincerity.

Good, that fake comic racist deserved it. I was thinking of quitting DVRing his show in solidarity with Suey Park and now when they discontinue his show I think at 11:30 I will start DVRing Letterman instead. I have loved that guy since when I just started college and he had that daytime show on that I could watch between classes, but got cancelled after a year or two by the suits at NBC. Guy is a genius.

Letterman will go on but Colbert will be cleaning out stalls at a dog track, or whatever his just punishment is for making fun of Dan Snyder (biggest jackass of an owner in any American major league sport).
