Where were ya'? I was parked inside turn 4, hanging out with RHR Fan and a few other friends...REO Racer was working pit condition flags all weekend...

Were you down there when Tags and Nelson hit on Friday and Saturday?

I think they were painted, but not really certain. I can tell you that if they were glued on, they were glued on pretty good, judging from the fact that I never saw anything tear away on contact.

Also, notice that where the Safer has perforations, so do the banners. It's not like they are just slapped up there in one piece.

Another interesting thing, after every practice where contact was made, after the session was flagged, a crew in a big white truck would pull up and take a circle saw to the Safer to cut out the damaged sections, then rivet or bolt in a new patch section. Afterwords, another crew would move in with what looked like a crop sprayer (they type gardeners use to apply fertilizer, a pressurized hose with a long arm and a flat spray patern), and repaint the walls white where tires and debris marked them up. In all the years I have gone to Milwaukee, I have never seen crews so diligent about repainting walls. Weird.

As far as the banners, they are stickers, with really good glue.

If someone were to try to, hypothetically, take home a souvenier of one of them, they may be able to get, say a corner piece.
