I just read that Keith Richards will have a cameo role as Captain Jack Sparrow's father in the next "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie (Richards was Johnny Depp's inspiration for the role of Captain Jack, of course). Hopes he lives long enough to do that--it would be amusing!

I just read that Keith Richards will have a cameo role as Captain Jack Sparrow's father in the next "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie (Richards was Johnny Depp's inspiration for the role of Captain Jack, of course). He'll save them a tidy bundle because he won't need any makeup...

WRINKLY rocker Keith Richards sheepishly admitted yesterday that the ‘coconut tree’ he fell out of was actually a small SHRUB.

The Rolling Stones guitarist did suffer horrendous head injuries in the freak accident on the island of Fiji.

But Richards, 62, said: “If you saw the tree, you would realise the joke. It certainly was not a coconut tree.

“Fiji has other trees, too. It was just a little tree. You wouldn’t believe it if you saw it.”

Richards, speaking on the eve of tonight’s comeback gig in Milan, laughed as he gestured that the plant was barely knee high.

The Stones had to delay the European leg of their Bigger Bang world tour for ‘Keef’ to undergo surgery.

He was flown to New Zealand for a procedure that involved having his head drilled and fluid drained off.

The shows were put back six weeks while he convalesced at home.
Yesterday Richards revealed he rather enjoyed the medical attention.

He added: “I remember the decision to go ahead and do it.

“Usually I would be hanging from the ceiling at the idea of brain surgery. But I surprised myself — and I had complete confidence in them.

“Yet I was p***ed off when they woke me. I was enjoying my sleep.”

He added: “I feel great. I can’t wait to get back on stage again.

Everything’s cool. I was out only for six weeks, not bad for a brain job.”

Richards confirmed he will play pal Johnny Depp’s dad in the next Pirates Of The Caribbean movie. He said: “I’m filming in September. I wondered why he paid for all those dinners.”
