Leigh Taylor Young was really hot in that movie. It was EG Robinsons last movie. Ironically his last scene has him picking his favorite color, being euthanised and processed for food.

Yeah well. It was fun while it lasted. They probably won't even win the Big East now. They looked truly flat and bad. Teel has convinced me he will never come around. Playcalling was bizarre.
Combined with Cal fading against SC and UofM's narrow defeat, they weren't moving up anyway.
And the Giants don't play until tomorrow so it is going to be a day of housework.

Coaches dropped UM to 3rd behind SC and ahead of UF, so it likely comes down to SC/ND next weekend. If SC struggles with ND @ home, I don't know how you keep vote UM below SC. I have a really good feeling about ND at Southern Cal. Brady's playing for the Heisman, and there are going to be many, many Domers in the stands.

SC's Dfense has really come together the past few games. Only gave up 10 to UO and 7 to Cal. Both were big scoring offenses coming in. Cal's offense is really similar to Notre Dame, the only differences is that Notre Dame has a tall Receiver in Smarzidafg but Walker is not as good as Lynch.
Our offense is still a little inconsistent but they are making more big plays this half of the season. Notre Dame's defense does not have me worried

no offense spicoli, and i mean this as nice as possible, cause i know you're a golden homer, but brady already f****ed himself for the heisman. He has underperformed all year, and the team, yet again has not lived up to the hype.
I am willing to bet if the team wasn't so hyped, and so much wasn't given to them that the team would be better off mentally, and have a greater shot at success. just my $.02

The signs during college gameday yesterday were great. Most talking about Charlie's bust size. My favorite though was "Charlie ate the Chocolate Factory."
Unfortunately, we'll still be subjected to a over rated Notre Dame team getting pounded on New Years day, but at least the illusion of them being a top 5 team is over and done with.
I can't wait to see who the Badger's end up playing. No doubt, the Badgers will be the underdog portrayed as a slow plodding team just hoping to keep up with some speedy SEC team. Wonder how that worked out for might Auburn last year?
God I hope they get a crack at Arkansas. McFadden is probably the best RB in college but the QB appeared to be one of the worst.
I'm hoping Arkansas beats Fla. There is a chance the Badgers could play Arkansas, Florida, or LSU. Florida could lose but still be in the BCS Top 8, but would only go to a BCS bowl if they finish ahead of LSU in the BCS. If that happens then the Badgers would play LSU, because Florida they would get an at-large bid. If Arkansas loses they play WI. Too bad Michigan and Ohio State are so good because I would have liked another Rose Bowl.

UF is in the SEC and they're going to play Arkansas and FSU and it doesn't matter what 1-AA team we play we're going to be ranked #2 BCS because we're that damn good and our SoS will be the #1 most SoS in the history of the sport because we're in the SEC!1one

sooooooooo f00. can the goaters jump condoms if they beat the hogz by a large margin? we wait for your math oh great one.
also, wtf, no big 12 championship game for the steer. sadness.
as for the former, margin of victory is irrelevant in the computer polls, I don't know what UF's gap from USC & Mich are in the indiv. comp polls, but they're pretty much 4th across the board (save Colley Matrix) right now so there is not much room for improvement.
Told you 1-AA 2-7 Western Carolina was going to drag down your rankings.
USC beat a 1 loss ND team, you're playing 2 loss piggie who got mudhole stomped by USC in Fayetteville. Regardless, comps are 33% of the final tally.
Only hope is in the human polls, 66% of the final tally, but you're 500 points behind in the Harris and 90 points behind in the coaches. You're not making up all that ground if USC beats UCLA in Pasadena.

Ank, papers here are saying if Rutgers loses to WV they are headed to the Texas Bowl in Houston (oh joy:rolleyes: ) against a Big 12 team. Who might that be?:)
Okie St or KU, probably Okie St b/c of proximity if there's a choice (7/8 bids, 9 teams). Both are 6-6. If Gator exercises it's Big XII option (thus 8 bids), then KU's probably the last one left by Texas Bowl's turn.
Both run a pass happy spread. Okie St is more dangerous imo w/ their weapons on O, Reid throwing to Bowman and Woods.
edit: apparently there's a sun bowl tie-in when the gator doesn't pick, so I guess there's 8 bids anyway... dunno if they pick before or after Texas Bowl, they'd probably take Okie St over KU as well...

So as I have believed then, arky losing to lsu hurt UF. USC must now lose to UCLA, and the voters must push UF to 2nd in order to not allow a rematch(that part is possible. not many are hype on a rematch).
arky losing was just teh suk. still UF's SOS is good. Too bad 'Bama, Auburn, and Hogz let the wheels fall off.
UF is f****ed. but its ok, cause if they did play UF it would be 62-24, OSU victory. No doubt.
blame it on Auburn & Arky all you want, but it's everything to do with an anemic offense costing votes (even w/ Aub & Arky at 1 loss, UF at best shares votes w/ Mich & USC for #2, and even then doubtful b/c of USC @ Arky) & 1-AA WCU costing computer rankings needed to compensate for the lack of votes

1. The best quarterback in the conference will be Drew Tate of Iowa. Troy Smith of Ohio State is the hot run-pass prototype, and Drew Stanton of Michigan State has the arm NFL scouts appreciate. But I like the career path Tate has carved. He won as a sophomore, then learned some hard lessons as a junior. With tailback Albert Young behind Tate, defenses will have to be honest. If yer boyz dint turn the bowl over, and perhaps converted a 3rd down or two more, ya'll might have mights have scored a TD or two instead of bending over and grabbing yer ankles. Don't get sore @ me that ya'll lost to Aggy....@ home. :gomer:

and how many 3rd down conversions did Aggy make? 66%? they ate up what, 9 minutes of the 4th quarter on one drive? 35 minutes overall in gametime? how many tricks did aggy use? zero? yet they still rushed for 250 with a playbook of 4 different runs? against 2 safeties sitting 15 yards off the LoS all game long? even though aggy only attempted what, 15 passes all agme? how many points did KSU score? 45 was it? how many 300 passing yard games did the D give up at the end of the season? 5 of 6? A&M flat outplayed us, they had the intensity. Our D was flat as could be the final 2 games.
yea, it's all on the offense, god forbid the defense for once in their life have to compensate for the O not scoring 30+ points. :gomer:
Since OSU south beat KU during the season, they would have 1st dibs on a bowl appearance. With 9 teams bowl eligible, someone in the Big Twinkie is gonna be outside looking in.
The conference doesn't decide who goes where, who beat whom is meaningless, the bowls take turns in a preconceived order picking whom they want to invite. A 7 win Tech will not be picked last. And Okie St will be picked based on travelling better than KU, not w/l

Dunno about the 2nd half vs. Aggy...was pretty much flat on my back with the flu, watching Arky/LSU with one eye open. I just caught the 'highlights' of the 2nd half action later. *shrug*
re: conferences deciding where teams go, last time I checked, they have deals in place to send teams to bowls based on the order of conference finish, eh? Small things like head-to-head and conference record are considered. Of course the Big Twinkie could operate differently....but frankly, I could care less. :)

bowls take picks based on a pecking order, not conference records.
naturally they want the best teams available for the highest ratings to keep their tv partners happy, while balancing it w/ who travels to fill the seats.
it's always been this way aside from conference champions. the bcs games are the only guaranteed bowl games for a ranking/record.
why do you think bowl committee reps go scouting teams first hand at the end of the season if their conference placing is going to determine whom they end up with?...

The Big Televen does appear to operate differently as well. :tony:
This year Drew Tate will get to throw interceptions at the Alamo Bowl (Big Ten 4th pick). Iowa finished 6-6 and 8th in the conference. Purdue and Minnesota both had better records but got picked in crappier bowls.
Last year Drew Tate got to throw interceptions on New Years Day even though Michigan finished ahead in the standings.
Northwestern finished ahead of OSU in the conference standings in 04 and didn't even get a bowl game.
BTW, conference standings are based on conference records.
Ank has it right.
