Opposite Lock

I probably would never have heard about this, had I not walked into the middle of it just outside my front door as I left for work this past Monday morning.
The first thing I saw was a very frustrated parking valet who couldn’t seem to get one of the cars out of reverse, coming very close to rear-ending another car several times, causing a micro traffic jam complete with much honking in anger, until the car’s owner saw the situation and ran over to relieve the befuddled valet and save his car.
Then I realized that the House Of Blues parking area was full of exotic sportscars (a number of Lambos, some Porsches, etc) in quasi-racetrim, so I snapped a few shots. Saw Stefan Johansson’s name on a couple of Spyker Spyders (but no sight of Stefan).

Finally went on to work and Googled, and found the “official site” (http://www.bullrun.com) and a blog, (http://bullrun2006.blogspot.com/) (neither of which have been updated much since then). Apparently they partied at the HOB the night before, and were on their way up to a dealership on the North Shore for breakfast and a tune-up before heading out on the day’s route.
Some of the entrants’ bios were kind of "interesting", albeit in a kind of “But WHY?” sort of way (for instance Paris Hilton :saywhat: ). But somehow, even if I were that filthy rich and arrogant, and as fun as it might sound, I can’t see myself spending a week getting pulled over, getting fines, and forfeiting my license in the name of a good party. (Stupid Protestant work ethic upbringing.)
In conclusion, for pretty much creating the rally scene in the early seventies, I just want to add, “Damn you, Brock Yates!” :gomer:
