INDIANAPOLIS (July 29, 2006) - The entry list for the 2007 Champ Car World Series season gets its first new name today as Champ Car Atlantic Championship race-winning team Gelles Racing announced its intentions to move up to Champ Car competition beginning next season.

Yep, and not to worry, nrc...6 cars in F-BMW, 4 in Atlantics and 2 in CC. A mere 12 car effort. Now, if AGR comes over everyone else can quit! :)

Yeah, saw ol' Jack up at Oshkosh Wed. zippin' around in his P-51. Kenseth and Martin there too. Roush Mustangs (both varieties) all over the place! Very impressive array of Warbirds. Loved him when he raced at RA with Hendrick in IMSA...hadn't seen him since!

Also, and certainly not official, but officially TALKING about it are: Steffan Johansson in San Jose, "Were trying, We're trying!" (when asked about a return to CC) Polestar's Griffith, "We want to do it sooner rather than later", (CC with Sciuto and Barron. Alex admits it's WAY harder this year than when he raced Atlantics in '97.) The so-called Dutch Mega Team (and talk of Robert Doornbos) and the race in Assen. Letter of understanding rumored to be signed soon and Pastorelli may be carrying some advertising for the proposed Sept. '07 event by the Denver race. Georgio Pantano sounds just angry when he talks about F-1 and says if he wants a career he'll have to come to America. Didn't say CC but that's who he has been talking to. AR1's latest suggests Christian Klien is out of F-1 and Red Bull likely will want him in CC. All speculation and very interesting, which makes my wish for a 24 car grid in '07 seem reachable. :thumbup: Realistic? Maybe not. But I am more optimistic than I have been in some time.
