View Full Version : Clarett visits our side of town
Maurice visited our side of town yesterday. Unfortunately he forgot that U-turns are prohibited city-wide. As are free-way chases, resisting arrest and carrying concealed weapons without a permit.

Rumor has it this is all just an attempt to get picked up by the Bengals. ;)
Seriously - to every adult who failed to give good guidance to this kid when he had the world in the palm of his hand: Shame on you. :(
Amazing. Jim Brown's influence is alive and well. :gomer: :shakehead
In case folks missed it, there was a column in USA Today a few weeks ago detailing MC13's mis-steps (up until that point in time):

Since then he's been late to court, supposedly caring for his newborn daughter that was born prematurely a few weeks ago, and then this debacle. Amazing. :shakehead

"You wanna be a punk, fine, but I don't think you've got the size for it. You wanna go to juvey, get out, deal, and kill cops? Okay, but every time you do a crime, you get caught, so I think you're gonna have to do something else."

^^^ Dule Hill was great in that scene.

Wow. My mom, who lives in Columbus, told me this morning that they were saying on the local news that Clarett was in the area where a witness in his robbery case lived!?? Has this been confirmed? He seems like a man without a soul. :shakehead

The guy had the world by the balls . . . too bad for him but I don't feel bad.

Yup. They arrested him < a mile away from a key witness in the case against him. However, I think it's noteworthy that he only ended up there after the police chase, U-turn, and having two tires disabled by stop sticks. Hard to tell whether that was his ultimate destination or not.

IMHO, it's a bit strong to say he had the world by the balls. He had a great freshman season @ OSU, but he was injury prone and had much yet to prove. What he lacked in physical talent seemed to be made up by his innate competitive instincts. He certainly had a chance @ greatness had he kept his nose clean and put in the effort necessary. He could do neither. It's an interesting contrast b/w MC13 and his childhood friend LeBron James. :shakehead

By the balls I mean, he could've "coasted" through his college playing days and he would have been signed for at least the NFL league minimum.

It certainly seemed like he was destined for greatness, but as soon as I saw him getting advice from Jim Brown, I knew that wasn't a good thing. :saywhat:

Dando, I think I recall even Jim Brown expressing his frustration with Clarett and saying something like "nobody can get through to the kid". Here he is 22 years old and now its too late for anybody to get through to him.

Somehow I missed that tidbit in all of the info that has been spewed over MC13. Sounds like something far too reasonable for Jim Brown to have said. ;)

Perhaps they should put this news on the comics page? :gomer: :saywhat: :shakehead
