Social polling.

I am going to type a phrase, and here are the rules: You have to either answer Yes I know what that is about, or No I do not know what that is about.

Whatever you do, don't tell people what it's about if you know.

Okay, the phrase: "Where you at, 85?"

Yes or no.

No "I think I know what it is"... Yes or no.

Thanks from the 10 year old kid!

So, that's a "No"....

P.S. He's 9, not 10, sorry... just turned 9 yesterday and I'm already adding a year to him. Oh, and thanks Ed for making me explain WTF to him.

Whoa, sorry boss. Didn't know the kid was reading. :saywhat:

For the sake of clarity, that's a "no." Your 9 year old is way cooler than me. :(

No worries, forgot the smiley. I'll explain what it's all about after he tallies the results at his bedtime tonight.

I knew I could count on nrc for this one.

Okay, kid is in bed, here's the assignment he had:

"Think of one of your favorite television commercials. Pick the key message from the commercial, then tell only the key message to 20 people and see if they know what the key message is from. Add up the responses."

They're learning politics, about democracy. This specifically is teaching them about how "key messages" can influence people. Think "It's the economy, stupid" or "I like Ike".

Of course... the boy picked an NFL Network commercial, which precludes a good 30% of the nation, and on top of that a commercial that most, having seen it, probably wouldn't remember. It's so obscure that it's not even on YouTube.

Basically, a flying camera is hovering around this city, and the voice underneath keeps saying "Where you at, 85?"... the camera finds a place called Lambert's Dental School (or something like that), goes inside, and finds the Bengals' Chad Johnson (number 85) sitting in the dentist's chair, presumably to get his grills polished or something.... it's bizarre.

Thanks for playing.

Well, OK then. The only other exception is while watching a live sporting event involving the above referenced colors or Champ Car. :)

It's definitely not regional, as I'm getting it on the NFL Network on my DirecTV.

Funny thing is, I almost never do except during spoerting events I really must watch as they happen. Only reason I knew.

If you watch the NFL Network, it's on a lot as the last commercial before returning to programming.
