Yeah, but before he even got that far he endeared himself well with the Chicago fans by saying something to the effect of "It's great to be here at Wrigley Stadium ..."
Then he followed that intro up by butchering the song...

Right after the Race to the Chase wrapped up, The TNT pit reporter (Weber?) told him otherwise (that she was the one who did "even worse") and he was very, very relieved, not to mention delighted in no longer sucking as much. :shakehead
