Ahead of the wankers. In the middle of the contenders. Not bad for the first time out in an iron slug and without a lot of oval experience in general

Having a Bill Davis Toyota doesn't hurt.

Louden is a good track. Nice and flat

There's a big difference. Milwaukee is a tremendous "flat mile" based on an old dirt horse track. Anything that was good about NHIS has been destroyed by the "improvements" needed to keep the NASCRAP product from going head on into the wall at the end of the straights.

No sponsorship on this truck...WTF (or in other words, what's the point)? Not even so much as a Red Bull "endplate"... :saywhat:

I imagine Gerry Forsythe understands precisely WTF is the point.

There's a big difference. . . . .

That was a "CYA" comment. I couldn't change the title after I had realized what I had done. I guess it was one of those "association" type of deals. . . . . my brain says, "AJ races at Milwaukee, not New Hampshire."

Theory 1: "Hey Gerry, I can get work elsewhere. Pony up the dosh."

Therory 2: There's no Red Bull on his truck, but it's still on his helmet. And with factory Toyota connections between the teams, this could still very well be an evaluation by the Red Bull Cup team.

Theory 3: Joy ride.

AJ qualified 32nd. more than 1 second off the pole.

The fact that Davis' trucks have never gone bare - always carrying at least a perfunctory "Tundra" as has historically been the case for Skinner, or smallish Army decals in the case of Lester - means regardless of the theory, it makes no sense (especially with Davis still running all three of his full-time trucks).

The booth guys just mentioned AJ and said Toyota is looking at AJ for a Nextel Cup ride next year.

AJ's a lap down.

BTW, I'm not watching this. It's on in the background.:)

It obviously makes sense to whoever is paying for this drive.

AJ finished 13th, on the lead lap.

Was it a Lucky Dog lead lap finish, or did he physically unlap himself?

As for Musgrave vs. Crawford, Ted's usually much more level-headed than that.

I tuned in briefly a couple times, once just as he was given the lucky dog award.

actually it was built by Allis Chalmers - for testing their products;)

Team Red Bull brass watches Allmendinger perform well in truck debut
SCENEDAILY - 06:13AM ET SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 17, 2006 - BY BOB POCKRASS - ASSOCIATE EDITOR

LOUDON, N.H. - Champ Car driver A.J. Allmendinger wears a Red Bull helmet as one of the drivers endorsed by the energy-drink maker, so maybe that's why Team Red Bull Competition Director Elton Sawyer was one of the first people to talk to Allmendinger on pit road after his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut Saturday at New Hampshire International Speedway.
