Car numbers in CART '03

Maybe this has been stated before? I wonder if it's a coincidence, but these numbers are taken this year:

2 (old Penske)
3 (old Penske, now used by PT....)
27 (old Dario)
31 (old Al Jr. @ Penske)
4 (old Ganassi)
12 (old Ganassi, now used by Jimmy....)

So with the exception of PT's old number from last year, CART gave out every Penske, Ganassi and TeamGreen number.

Penske and Ganassi were the ones that left the trail of scortched earth behind them when they tore out of CART. I see no conspracy here.

I've got no problem with that! :laugh:
The fact that Paul is again driving the #3 and Jimmy is again driving the #12 got me thinking, while I was having a beer and brat in Turn 9 this weekend.

I see no problem with teams wanting to use those numbers. Penske and Ganassi are no longer around, why the hell shouldn't CART be handing out those numbers?
