View Full Version : IRL announces 9 race schedule
Supposedly this is a partial schedule with more to come. This is funny because the gomeratti have sworn that the IRL would never do anything so disorganized and low class as add or change dates once their schedule is announced. :gomer: Now they love it. Marketing genuis! :tony:
Those who actually care about the schedule (such as it is) can dig it out of the article. I don't care.

I see your :gomer: and your :tony: and raise you a http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/whacky086.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)
It's also very funny that they feel the need to present a 9 race schedule with a vague number of TBAs during the same week that Champ Car is expected to announce their full 2007 schedule.
I suppose Fred Nation is still sitting in his office waiting for Kahlkoven to knock and announce "I'm your Mystery Dateā¢" before releasing the rest of the schedule.

Think anyone on anoTher Forum will discuss how "unprofessional" it is for the IRL announce a schedule that is not only incomplete, but weeks after the finish of the previous season?? Shouldn't the whole schedule have been finalized by at least mid-season (June) ????
And since "the partner" is shelling out millions for the rights to broadcast each and every one of these ratings juggernauts, they're probably a little concerned, right??
Nah.
You just can't stop a jugglenut. :gomer:
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -The Indy Racing League will switch its race at Kansas Speedway from July to late April next year as a buildup to the start of practice for the Indianapolis 500.
This oughta be good. As if crappies don't fly well enough on their own, that's prime severe weather season in the middlewest. Weeeeeee! :saywhat:

Reference to race in Kansas City the last weekend of April.

Yep. An F4 tornado missed the Kansas Speedway by less than a mile in '03, about a week later than when these fools have scheduled their "event" next year. Came through in the early afternoon, on a Sunday.
Or the weather could be better: it could be in the 40s, misty and windy. Give 'em a chance to try out those rain-grooved oval tires. Or studded snows.
Back on topic: no need to read their schedule. There's not a real race on it.

That article makes no sense. I see no announcement of any partial schedule at indycar.com nor discussion of such an announcement at TF - only individual races as released by the tracks.

Supposedly the discussions about shared .1RL/CC weekends are still in discussion.
I do sincerely hope KK & Co. pull the rug out from under The Dope at the last second.

They've been marketing the short bus oval package for over 10 years now.
