The off-road shenanigans were so bad early in the session that the joke in the Target Chip Ganassi Racing pit was that a crew member had been sent to a nearby Home Depot to purchase a lawnmower blade. It wasn’t entirely clear if the blade was intended for the Ganassi No. 9 Dallara-Honda driven by Dan Wheldon or the rival Marlboro Team Penske No. 6 Dallara-Honda driven by Sam Hornish Jr., but both drivers found the grass more than once.

If the IRL decides to hold a race in Europe, it will more then likely be at the Old Nurburgring; because it's probably the most un-safe track around for formula cars. :shakehead
I wonder when they'll race at talladega and Bristol? They did Dover, so Bristol can't be that far off.....:(
It's absolutely unbelievable.
Team Penske car shows the radical new High Angle of Attack rear wing set up designed to keep Sam Hornish on the track on high banks and road courses:

It didn't work, though. :tony:

Isn't the transition from road course to oval a pretty dramatic one? I would have thought the front wings would have hit.
The :09 second clip on the banking sounds hideous.

Lap times, people! What were the lap times??? I need to know if they would qualify as Superbikes, Supersport or Superstock!
I LOVE the idea of a near-stock $10,000 Honda motorcycle kicking ass on a "pinnacle of technology" like an .1RL engine with all the wings on it...

They kept the lap times private to protect the innocent.
with CW going down the tubes

They kept the lap times private to protect the innocent.
You mean nobody had a stopwatch?
And they kept changing the layout. They don't WANT comparisons.
