Actually they were better with David Clayton Thomas.

I wore out Mom & Dad's copy of their original Greatest Hits collection. In '77 while we were on vacation in Ocean City they were playing a local club so mom agreed to take a friend and me. It was a night club complete with Vegas-style waitresses so it was quite and experience for a couple of 15 year-olds. :) The opening act was some guy named Steve Martin and while I don't remember the details of the BST line-up, I do remember that it was after David Clayton Thomas rejoined the band. It was awesome. I'm still a sucker for a good horn section. :thumbup:

Evidently some folks' recipe for not "sucking on many levels" is a vocalist who can't sing, a guitarist who can't play, a drummer that can't keep time, music and lyrics that would be "pretty good for a sophmore in high school," and a pair of giant foam hands.

Ok, Queen's music doesn't have to be to your taste, but if you can't recognize that they were brilliant on many levels then you should just give up music altogether and stick with giant foam body parts and syncopated head slapping.

Well, regardless of our feelings towards Queen's music back in the day, I think we can all agree that dragging out a couple old band members, adding auxiliary musicians out the wazoo, plopping Paul Rodgers (perhaps the worst singer ever) out front and calling it "Queen" sounds like something Anton dreamed up during a coke binge.

Hey, I think Brian May's guitar solo in "We Will Rock You" is one of the greatest ever. It's the overproduced, operatic stuff that grates on me. That and Radio Ga Ga (though I dug the Fritz Lang action in the video). :D
