View Full Version : Bulletin: Remergification Off
"That whole thing (meeting) got blown out of proportion," Kalkhoven said Saturday at the Indy 300. "Tony and I talked, but there was nothing specific."
...
"We have gone a long way to resolving all sorts of issues, but our concentration is on Champ Car, which is going really well now," Kalkhoven said. "I'm kind of happy, and not in any hurry."

Can you turn something off if it was never on to begin with?:D
Not to be the bad apple in the bunch but KK is full of ****. Is it necessary to pull up quotes from both him and TG that indicated this was alot further along than just small talk?
Don't deny and then blame the media Kevin, you sound just like TG when he tried to claim the media made up the grassroots racing junk back in the day when the IRL was formed. Unfortunately their were plenty of quotes from him to dispute that.

the best line is:rofl:
"It would be nice to do a merger in some respects, but culturally the two organizations are very far apart," Kalkhoven said. "Paul Stoddart is more our kind of guy than a Roger Penske."
Stoddart, a British-based Australian industrialist and former Formula One team owner, is currently in "fact-finding" talks with Champ Car about possibly entering a team, a Champ official said Saturday.

So will there ever be a merger?
"It's impossible to say," Kalkhoven said. "We're not really at that level of discussion."
That's pretty much been the line from the beginning. Merger would be good but not necessary, and only if it is done right and talks are/would be very touchy. So meanwhile we need to focus on our series and just keep getting to know each.
No real news here except that KK still knows what he's doing
