Where would Stewart be if he had made the chase?

I don't like this whole chase B.S. I know Stewart missed out on the cut by something stupid like 16 points. To me, as a casual Nascar fan it seems he has had the best run since the 10 drivers qualified for the chase. Were would he be in points if he had made the chase, say he would have been 10th instead of 11th after the cut-off race? Would he be in the points lead after today's race?

I guess if Stewart made "le chase" that the "top 15" after round 26 would be the points tally worth checking out.

Stewart would be about 4th in chase standings if he was allowed compete.

Don't think so. He NEVER would have gambled on fuel in the previous win if he HAD made the Chase and I'd bet he raced way differently in this last event than he would have if he was IN the Chase. Just guessing. His wins almost make perfect sense because he can forget about a "top 10" and just race for wins.
