I'm using this milestone as a good point to retire my nick and take at least a year off.
For those so inclined, the long version will be up for a short time here. (http://members.cox.net/34onyx/5000.htm)
It's been fun! :)
All the best, r2c. Thanks for sharing with us. There are just too many to which I haven't been able to say a proper farewell. :( Take care.
-Kevin
not a bad way to say good-bye
hope it all works out for you:thumbup:

r2c, I completely agree with what you said. As Seger once wrote - 'I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then.'
After seeing baseball in 94, the split in 96, and the NHL 2 years ago, I believe you can say confidently that the politics of the sport turns people off of the sport. The people that are left are either too die-hard, or just masochists.
So no goodbyes, see ya down the road mate. we'll grab a pint sometime.
later bro, enjoy the sunshine :)

Best of luck down in South Florida, make sure to watch out for them flying commas.
Holy ****!
What class!
What a way to go!
Out-****ing-standing.
I learned something today. Prolly forget it by tomorrow, but for today, I have been enriched by your presence, and enlightened by your withdrawl.
Too much to say, I'd end up writing a page or three.
Farewell. See you at the checkers.
Drop The Flag.

Take care brother. I've been a bit quiet this past year in the old post department but I'm still a fan and I love reading yours and everyone elses posts. You make me happy. (Ralph voice.) :)
Enjoy your life away from our place but promise you won't forget to come back when you are good and ready.
Later mate.........
Rusty.
Very sorry to see you go, r2c. Thanks for your participation and especially for the kind words.
We'll miss your contributions. I hope that sooner rather than later you'll be ready to come back in some form or another. I can certainly sympathize with feeling a little burnt out on all the cynicism in the sport right now. Maybe following from an arms length for a while will help rekindle the enthusiasm.
Best wishes to you and good luck on your move and new position.

You've made the first step of twelve to get your life back. Best of luck.
Seriously, thanks for taking the time to say goodbye. And it respects the time you (and all of us) have put in here.
I too wish to get my rose colored glasses back. I'd like to be a cheerleader without some internet expert telling me I'm a fool. But I am very hopeful that the next few years will give us all a lot less to be cynical about.
Enjoy Tampa. Get a sailboat, you won't regret it.:)
Sorry to see you go but a big  to your post.
I've found myself spending less time on the racing forums the past year. I'm inbetween hanging onto this series and seeing where it goes or just forgetting about all of it and moving onto other passions in life.
Goodluck in Tampa. Enjoy the sun.

You remembered Stu in your list but forgot Ank? :saywhat:
Sorry to see you go. I'm glad at at least this time its on your own terms, and not because I was harassing you, like on 7G. See you in the future. ;)
Thanks for the goodbye.Good luck in the new position.:)

Congrats on the new job. Best of luck.

Wow. I was just wondering today, where is racer2c? Then I found this thread. I completely missed this (best friend in town that week) and am now wondering what that web page said. Would anyone mind summarizing (if possible) for those of us way late to this?

Pretty much, anyway.:p
(sick of the split, tired of the politics, take time off to enjoy the racing and bring "innocents" to the track [kids, I think]. Recapture the love of the race. Focus on home.org )
