Sweet looking car.

I always like the closed cockpit best.

What are the rules on that? Isn't there a displacement penalty or something for buttoning up the cockpit?

IIRC, the only difference in engine regs between open and closed cars is that closed cars equipped with an A/C system (dunno if the Peugeot is or not, but I suspect it is) get larger restrictors.

Not that ACO rules would skew in favor of a French manufacturer or anything.

Yawn. If I want to watch hulls like that at speed all I need to do is head over to Madison for the Regatta.

Funny you should mention Madison. . . . while surfing the cable a few weeks ago I caught the last half hour or so of a movie called Madison. It was about hydroplane racing, specifically the Miss Madison.

Also on that day my 6 year old son's kindergarten class had their weekly trip to the library. What book did he borrow you might ask. It was one devoted to hydroplane racing!!

I must be the only sportscar and endurance racing fan on the planet who thinks these cars are as hideous as the converted single-seater Lola T333s and (later) March 817s.

1999 was about the last year when I thought some of the cars looked like sportscars:

By 2000 even the Audis looked bad to me.
