I guess he is ignoring AJA cue and not staying in Nascar;)

Foyt was to meet with his new teammates later today in Daytona Beach, Fla., where he will co-drive a Daytona Prototype with Scheckter, Carpenter and George in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona later this month.
Captin Stoopid is getting behind the wheel?
****, I may go to that race just to qwatch this rolling dickwad.

a j jr. = ride buyer? I wonder how much behind the scenes sammich had to do with this? Surely FTG didn't hire IV on past talent?

Why?
He provens himself to be an American driver with a great last name that and capable of getting a core of IRL fans all moist.;)
Its all about the fans in the IRL.
I wouldn't be surprise if TG actually is paying him.

If Tony was just after a big name he could've chosen Al Unser, Jr. or one of the Lazier brothers. Oh well, the logic of a gomer.
Instant classic . . . . IV takes out Manning in the first turn on lap 1 at homestead.
Wooo hooo!
You're all gonna help me again this year, right? :)
24 Hours of Foytility. How cool is that?
All is well again here on the others forum. The futility that is Foyt, makes it worth coming around again.

When was the last time TG drove? Super Vee in '88?
I believe AJ told Tony back then not to quit his day job...... whatever that was.
Foyt ran FTG in an ARS Wildcat one season. All I can remember was FTG following the white line at Phoenix like it was coke... He also did some SCCA showroom stock racing in the mid 90s.

So Vi$ion is now, what, a 9 car team?
I liked the part about Quattro saying he doesn't even know the sponsor yet. Like he's expecting one LoL....

And now Jon Herb is back!!! The Greatest Spectacle is back.
Of course, now the dilemma starts: Do I go watch The Five Hunnert so I can tell my grandkids I actually saw IV race side by side with Jon Freakin' Herb. Or, do I scalp the tickets for the obscenely large sum I know people will be willing to pay and help fund my kids college education?
Oh the dilemma!!!
And The League appears saved...Jon Herb , Sarah and AJ4 along with Marty Roth make 18!! Blockbuster lineup.

My god. Tony George is going to be racing on the same track as the guy he stole an Indy 500 win from? I hope his team is smart enough to stagger his stints away from Tracy's. ;)

I doubt it will be common sight to have that many folks in the background.

Best line in the article.
"At this point, I don't even know who the sponsor is or what the car number is."
I'm hearing...... ;)

Doesn't matter. In Grand-Am you need a check(fairly large) and a pulse to get a license. I know guys who didn't even have ARS, Super Vee or Firehawk races 20 years ago that ended up racing GT Porsches in Grand-Am. One guy is now racing DP, and his first EVER race was in a Rolex Grand-Am race! :saywhat: Heck, you dodn't even need a medical examination to race in Grand-Am Cup!

I'll guess zero for both.
I doubt it will be common sight to have that many folks in the background.
Dunno, with Milka, Quattro and special Ed running at the rear, it's looking to be a real crash-em up season. There is a segment of society that seems to get titilated by that sort of stuff ya know.

Naw, just bought his car. Vision livery has no sponsorship as usual.

From his site it looks like he is only running one GA car (Lexus Fabcar). He ran a Porsche Crawford also last year.

The race will end for them a minute or two after that idiot gets in the car so unless they wait until the very end of the race to have ftg drive Scheckter will probably have a relatively short day.:shakehead

He hit hard enough to shove the left front wheel into the chassis bulkhead
Wasn't his last road racing SS/A in a Trans Am with Andy Pilgrim about 1994?

Thinking about that team forces my brain to play that Yakety Sax music from Benny Hill over and over again.
If there's enough footage of Vision's futility, someone should youtube a montage with that music over it.

Any word on who will be Foyt IV's sponsor for 2007? (Cleveland, Ohio).
Answer: Yes. In some fashion, former boxer George Foreman. Details have not been released.
Queston: Why in the world would Tony G hire AJ IV to drive his third car? There are numerous more qualified drivers with a lot better records that have a lot more to offer IRL, such as Sarah Fisher. What gives? (Mike, Colorado Springs, Colo.)
Answer: First of all, remember that Tony, like any other team owner, has the right to pick his driver(s). Remember, too, that the Hulman-George family and the Foyt family have been tight for the past three decades. Remember, too, that Sarah likely is going to be in the second car of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing alongside Buddy Rice. So she was taken. We could debate the merits of other drivers for hours, but it was Tony’s choice.
