NASCAR traditionally leverages corporations seeking entry into its major series into support of the sanction's efforts on other levels. Dodge, for example, has done so in sponsoring NASCAR's weekly racing series (formerly backed by Winston) and by allying with Brand Sense, a marketing subsidiary of NASCAR.

To me it looks like auditions.
Some stock car drivers may not get a shot to move up unless they take a chance and go with Toyota. Granted it will be a rocky road to begin with but the sky is the limit.
My guess is the only driver Toyota has lined up for trucks next year is Rob Huffman who has been the "factory" guy in the Goody's Dash Series.
.....now, if Toyota just had room for a marketing/promotion guy in their Motorsports division.......;)
