I picked all but, "Champcar is done... I'm goin' Earlin'!". I don't think CC is doing fine, but I don't think it's closing up shop either. I think it's still struggling as much as it has the past few years.

Only 52% of this board likes boobs and booze? You guys do know that this was a multiple choice poll, right?

No better or worse than last year. Which I suppose is a disapointment, but then, so has nearly every season been since the split.

Some may be equating boobs to FTG. ;)

And remember some of us are female. Now if it was boobs and/or booze then it'd be different. ;)

The number of responses for boobs/booze has gone up 13% since my post. For once I'm actually influencing the direction of a thread in a positive way!

this poll is in better shape than champ car
Im still waiting for them to do something intelligent after leaving Judge Ott's courtroom
Getting Cottman was good, and uh, that race in China rawks :yuck:
Start with some concessions to the Reynard so the lower buck guys could run (read rent) them out and boost car counts.
but that's over isn't it
Once I saw the word augering I couldn't help but click the boobs and booze choice.
The series marquee event, Long Beach, pales in comparison to Indy, Monaco, Daytona or a LeMans. It just doesn't have the clout.
The series marquee event kinda sets the tone for the rest of the series, hence, series that runs a street race as a marquee event = a street race series. (yea, I know F1 and Monaco but gimme a break, it's F1)
Street racing in large doses = sucks
CART 2002-2003 was already tanking.
Something had to be done since 2004 to right the ship. Aside from a fairly nice looking new car, an engine company and a cheaper ladder series formula, nothing really has changed.
Corporate $$$ = race cars on the track.
Corporate $$$ = real race drivers in the seats.
Corporate $$$ = Series is strong enough to pull fans to real race tracks.
Corporate $$$ = Series is strong enough to pull fans to the tube so corporations gain something from the series investment.
Kevin and Gerry's pocket change funding the series = Very expensive Hobby/Club racing, rich people have been known to lose interest in hobbies if it costs to much for too long.
Simple enough. Even a merger or unification, whatever happens, won't help if TG is the one pulling the strings in the end game.
OW is dying. What a sad way for the once great series known as CART and the great race, the Indy 500 to die from.
