Is there a way to disable those stupid videos that start playing automatically when you browse the site?
Not sure what you're talking about so evidentlyl the combination of Linux and/or Firefox ad blocker deals with it nicely.

No, it's an embedded block on the autoracing news page that plays a video once the page loads. Much like the annoying videos that play on ESPN.com, there isn't a way to turn them off. :irked:

Yes, they are very annoying . . . . I guess there isn't a setting in Windows that would prompt you before they started palying?

Web designers have a lot of tools available to them but the good ones resist the temptation to use them all on the same page...:gomer:

I use the Flashblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433) Firefox plugin. It blocks all flash, but allows to play a flash item, should you choose, simply by clicking on it. It works great on speedtv.com. YMMV.
