Team Australia testing at M-O

Per Tony Cotman in a David Phillips article at SPEEDtv.com:


“We’re looking at some oil pressure drop outs – with Cosworth – when the car experiences negative vertical g-forces. We’ve sent parts over to Cosworth and Team Australia is testing this week at Mid-Ohio, which is notoriously bad for that."


It would be very interesting if Team Australia released testing times so we could compare them with the Lola in 2003 and, of course, with the Dallara/Honda when M-O is defiled later this summer.

most of that time would be down to tyres I think. not saying pagenaud is crap, because he isn't. but most of it has to be down to tyres, I do not believe that the DP-01 is better than the Lola, but much as the lola's times improved post aero freeze due to tyres, I think that is what the difference is between DP01 and B02/30

Yup. And de Ferran's time was in the Reynske chassis.

If you go by what Bourdais was saying, the DP01 is faster. It will show on smoother tracks as opposed to the bumpier ones because the shocks can't be developed like the Lola's.

Especially since (AFAIK) there's no such creature as a Lola B02/30, and even if there is, it would be an F3 chassis. :gomer:

To be fair, the festival curves were dramatically reconfigured in late 2005- much wider and faster than before.

Whether or not it's enough to chop times by .558, I won't hazard a guess, but it's certainly within the realm of possibility.

Gil de Ferran was in the Reynske in 2000 and probably had at least 150 HP more available than Pagenaud in the DP01.
