The most accurate part of that portrait is the grouchy old yellow shirt reprobates depicting usac in the background....:shakehead
Oh yeah, what year did Mikey win?

That's not Mikey, he's smiling. :p

Neither did Ted Horn or Rex Mays, for that matter. IIRC, Mikey holds the record for the most laps led for a non-winner. He belongs, despite being a douchebag.
Where's Cheeber? No Rahole? Whattabout Rice, Sham, PT, etc.... :gomer: Note that only Gaylio is considered one of the greatest for racing exclusively post-split. Mikey, Al Jr., and Arie are the only ones to race both pre- and post-split. However, one would question whether Al Jr. actually raced post-split @ Indy.
BTW, I just did a search for Indy repeats on E$PN Classic, and they only have a couple of old 500s scheduled this week. Used to be that they'd have a dozen or so repeats back-to-back-to-back-to....well, you get the picture. :shakehead Anyway, '82 and '92 are on tap Sat for pre-split goodness.

But they got the chubby cheeks right! ;)
Notice how the cars in the background aren't the modern IRL beasts. And where's AJ's sammich?

Drew Carey won the Indy 500?

blown engine on the last turn of last lap of next to last race cost 96, wasn't he runner up in 97 as well?

Dude, I'm talking about @ Indy, not RA. Al Jr. was racing with Pimpske until he got dumped after the '99 season. In '96 he was racing in the US 500 @ MIS. I was there to see it, yo. He dint race again @ Indy until '00, and finished like 30 or so. He may have had a teens or so finish since, but I'm quite sure that was the result of an act of :tony:.

Don't they show the '82 and '92 races every year? Why not '95 or '89 or '93 or something different for once?
