Alot of heavy braking at this track, especially by gophers.

Speed channel was not granted the right to broadcast Qualifying and practice for the Canadian Grand Prix to Canadian viewers. Watch TSN (Ch. 400) Saturday June 9th at 1 pm to catch live coverage of the F1 Qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix.

I wonder why Bernie doesn't tell TSN to either cover some Friday practice OR let Speed through in Canada on Friday?:shakehead

I had to chuckle when I heard some comments about the race on the weather channel. They mentioned the race in Montreal and the huge crowd. They said that 350,000 would be in for the race. I guess they've kept and eye on IMS and figure if they can inflate the number for the I-500 by a pile, why not do the same thing. :D

I know in the early part of the decade Montreal was setting F1 attendance records

Missed that during the coverage. Only saw it on the outgoing credits? Which Spyker pilot was it that just earned his wings? :D

For 1996 (JV's first appearance) they got flooded with requests for tickets very early and had to have a lot of additional stands installed. But, doubt if they have every gone over 150,000 let alone 350,000. Maybe every hooker in the country heads to Montreal for the weekend and that inflates the influx. :D

yes, some of the photos I've seen certainly give you that impression. We've been through Surfers twice and it sure didn't look like what we've seen on TV during the race weekend.

Finally on it now late night - there were a couple of those critters roaming around the Parliament building in Ottawa when I was out there and I couldn't believe it - I thought they were groundhogs or nutria or something and they were fearless. Ironic that the answer came on an F1 practice broadcast. I got a couple close up shots that I will post when I get around it.

That and the black squirrels tripped me ooot. :D
