Somebody did the exact same thing with a ~50' wooden ketch back in NY when I was growing up. It was quite the popular fishing spot and everybody on the rocks were screaming at the idiot as he took the "shortcut", while under near-full sail:eek:, and slammed it into the rocks. The keel stayed on one side of the rocks and what was left of the hull and the broken masts sank like a stone on the other side. Yeah, he was drunk.:shakehead
