View Full Version : Robin Miller
What if it was for some other reason???
Do you honestly believe that? I know it's rare, but I'm not trying to be a smartass here. If there was some justified reason do you think they would have withheld it considering the completely predictable backlash?

Maybe Robin was sending porn to Champ Car employees.

Maybe some legal reason not to say anything more? I have no idea what happened and I am pointing out that no one here does either.

There's a poster at another forum that has been on a rant all season long about Miller. You don't suppose he had anything to do with influencing the brass at CC, do you? Sad, if true.
considering he's bragging that they flew him to cleveland to help with the "problem" yes , and thefact that he said RM was intentially mislead with bogus info from a certain owner damn skippy his gloves are bloodly

They'd probably yank a lot more than a hard card if that was the case.
Someone mentioned a fan forum at RA. Were any of these issues mentioned?
I was at the fan forum and I do not remember Robin Miller coming up, or journalists in general.
The only somewhat disgruntled question to come up was about the propensity to cancel races. The asker mentioned that he and his wife wanted to go to Zuhai and how could we know for sure when the schedule would be set and actually happen.
Gentilozzi then explained what happened with the track promoter putting down the deposit (which prompted ChampCar to put it on the schedule) then not being able to finish the facility in time. Then the FIA wouldn't give the fall date (he does not blame the FIA). But they WILL be in China next spring and the asker can stand on Paul's timing stand if he can get himself to China.

yeah, but does PG know for sure HE's gonna be there?
So, in summary (if I understand the coded innuendo):
A certain racing series engaged deliberately in misleading a respected and established journalist in an underhanded attempt to discredit him/her for the sole benefit of getting the journalist to stop reporting negatively about the certain racing series. The unusual twist in this cloak and dagger story is that it's alleged that a certain internet forum poster was consulted for input and may have helped construct the entire scheme. But, the certain racing series apparently didn't expect the backlash from the racing media who apparently have sided with the discredited established journalist. Other interested parties hot on the trail of truth have uncovered tidbits of unconfirmed information that all seem to point to the incompetence of the certain racing series' management, especially when/if consulting astrologists/innerweb posters/wannabee journos for future series planning.
Wow, I guess I haven't been paying attention enough....it just all seems too stupid to be true. :\

Given the choice between nothing and something, the few people left who care might prefer something.
Put me in the column of those who no longer give a crap. I tried watching the Elkart Lake race on TV and the race was not engaging to me in any way. It was boring. They could halt the series today and I could care less.
The turning point for me was the season where half the grid was running on Pookfare. The series has went downhill from there and the racing is dismal.
I know, I know. . . . . just have faith,,,,,,,,,,,,we will prevail,,,,,,,,,,all is fine

The arguemnet that you think the series is dead looses it's credibility when you continually post about it. If it were dead to you we wouldn't see you around these boards, would we?

If CC dies today (hypothetically, cause I wouldn't some to miss the point here :irked: ), I'm sure OC would hang around for a little while anyways. And i'm sure that I would still be here every day as always. I know a few of the posters personally, have sat down with them with drinks in hand, or at the very least, shook many a hand.
I always get a kick out of those who say 'if you hate it, why are you here/watching/a fan/enter your own stupid comment'
That screams of those who want to join the debate but have nothing to debate with. Maybe a 'Me Too!' would suffice for ya. quicker to type and all. don't say I don't help ya.

Once again, if CC died today - hypothetically - cause I don't want you miss the point here, tomorrow I will still log in, as many others would. The friendships that some have built probably go farther than the reason why they met and became friends.

The Robin Miller thing is truely pathetic. Worse, it's short-sighted. I'm about to the point of writing the whole thing off and sticking with Moto GP and Formula 1.
It's not that Robin Miller is the oracle. He is living in the past as much as anyone who posts on Gomerforum. It's that Miller cares when so few do.

Hey wait. They completely miscalculated (I'm assuming the story you refer to is the SJ firing) that most people would believe the reporter was right and CC was just trying to save face by saying he still has the same title but is working on sales and they gave him a contract extension. :)

It's dead when the doors are closed. I'll probably hang on to the very end. Much like the Sopranos, I probably should've stopped watching 3 years ago but will watch it to the end (and look back at how stupid that decision was :)).

I still enjoy the races. If that changes I will walk away. It's certainly not like the good ole days, and I'm not very optimistic about the future. But I still make an appointment to watch.

I think you mistake me for someone with the rose colored glasses. I'm not, believe me. I think there is a very real possibility that the doors will close for good in December. I also think the racing has become the least entertaining thing about the series. The most entertaining thing about the series is watching the watching the business fumbles upon business fumbles. Unfortunately, the alternative is watch the Idiots creation and I just can't get interested in that. Period.
I just think that to say that something is dead and to still post on and on about it is disingenious. No big thang.:)
Devil, my decaf comment was light humor. Not meant to be an insult.:D

I'm just trying to connect some dots here. I read elsewhere that certain "insiders" became aware of RM's revocation on 7/13, which is between Toronto and Edmonton. RM was at the Edmonton race. He was not at San Jose, because of time conflicts with Speed News (and a Brickyard feature).
Now if said revocation happened at a board meeting in Cleveland (which I'm assuming happened around the CGP on 6/23, because why else would you have a meeting in Cleveland, when you're HQ'd in Indy), and it was "public" knowledge on 7/13, and RM was at the races in the interim, was his card not revoked until recently or was he just using track credentials the whole time? If its the latter, why the brouhaha now?

1. If true, CCWS mgmnt is more F'd up than i could ever imagine
2. If not true, ,,,should be blasted into oblivion.
