• Newman on Pole in Charlotte: #12-Ryan Newman won the Budweiser Pole for the Bank of America 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway with a speed of 189.3945mph for his 5th pole of 2007 and the 42nd of his career. #48-Johnson qualified second with the rest of the top-10: #43-Labonte, #24-Gordon, #9-Kahne, #26-McMurray, #17-Kenseth, #2-Busch, #25-Mears, and #16-Biffle. The non-top 35 teams that made the race were: #10-Riggs, #4-Burton, #55-Waltrip, #00-Reutimann, #84-Allmendinger, #21-Elliott, #36-Mayfield, and #49-Andretti.(10-11-2007)

I have questioned hte logic for years too...LHD Falcons or Commodores would solve that big rear wheel drive front engine requirement in the USA for cheap. The car is already designed, all they would have to do is built it (and that could be done in Aus or USA)
