Cleveland or Houston, my vote.

I hope Bourdais gets pole and dominates flag to flag. :D

I think visiting Chernobyl would be preferable to giving SOG my phone number, but that's just me. :D

1) Cleveland... definitely. Yes, definitely

2) You wanna know how f'd up it is? Until this very second I thought the race was NEXT weekend. If CC can't keep ME straight they have no hope. :shakehead

WTF This is my birthday weekend and the G men are playing the cowgirls. And I have a big fat Greek party to go to, plus a HS playoff game and RU v Army. Excuse me but I have a schedule to work.

^^^ good choice. :D

Race was dull until about the last 10 minutes or so. Nice to see Servia charging to the podium (and taking the spot from PT especially!).

I'm almost happy that Phoenix is dead, another month gap to the next race would lose my interest entirely...

Here's hoping 2008 is better than I expect. :p

That's the last podium Bourdais will ever see, hope he enjoyed it.

And Cleveland should have won the "Official Toe of Champcar" contest, she's cute.

I find that very unlikely.

Formula 1 is tough, granted, he would have to immediately impress to have a hope of moving up the grid to a podium contender.

But he's a racer, he's not just an OW guy, he's done a lot of different stuff like Le Mans, Rolex 24, even friggin' IROC! We'll see him back in other forms of racing someday. Hopefully after a tremendously successful F1 career... :)

For some reason my DVR didn't record the race. :irked:

I don't really even mind that much. < sigh> The end of the schedule is an enthusiasm killer with the large gaps. And more of the same next year. :yuck:

You mean until the bogus yellow for "debris"?

And what did they get for it? SeaBass was the faster guy out there and proved it....again. All the yellow did was reveal just how desperate they are.

I was shaking my head too. I don't remember CC EVER throwing a competition yellow.

But Hansom said there was an endplate out there and he didn't seem to even hint it was bogus and I think he might well have done so if he felt so. So... I'll accept that there was debris and better to pick it up than let SB run over it and cut a tire.

I still would have liked to see it. Seemed important to the race reporting.

Actually I thought Hampson was being sarcastic they asked him. I took it to mean he thought is was just as bogus as I did.

Tough to say if it was bogus or not... the director was so horrible it's entirely possible there was debris they never actually showed on TV.

They showed it. In the racing line. Go to the tape, gloom doomers.:p My understanding of the restart was Bourdais was faster out of the Peraltada sans P2P because Power couldn't even use his remaining shot until he was in a straight line. (handling) Sounded like the RA gearing thing all over again with N/H/L getting the power down more effeciently. Whatever, the difference was very noticeable.

Power said it himself in the post race interview that his car was loose so he couldn't floor it through the Peraltada like Bourdais could.

Before the race when they said that SB and GR were penalized 22 seconds worth of PTP I said to myself, "Self, they can take away all of Bourdais' PTP and he'd still spank the competition."

IMO, CC should take a look at their restart rules to see if it's possible to keep at least the first five cars close together on the front straight before dropping the green flag.

With all the electronics available today couldn't they come up with a "restart" button or something and have the "Restart Marshall" up in the booth start them all at once when properly lined up at say, 60mph?:) Part of the problem is the number of tracks with very short runups from the last turn to the S/F lines with many cars yet to make it onto the straightaway. Instead of nose-to-tail, stagger them left/right like on a standing start to compact the field and NOBODY drops the hammer (from 60) until the giant 12ft. green light comes on at the line!

Andrew Longman

Power may have not been able to get the power down thru the last turn, but he also didn't have to let SB get about a seven car head start going through the chicane either. He could have made it closer and perhaps close enough for P2P to matter on the straight or elsewhere. Just my opinion.

Went there, didn't find it. I replayed it from the time the yellow is thrown to about 10 minutes or so after they come back from commercial and they are still under yellow. They mention debris but never show it.

OK, I'LL go to the tape!:) Could have confused races and tracks? :gomer: What's next, a "lucky dog" drive-by? Remember the timed lights at Indy that had cars maintain distances on yellows so nobody COULD close up? Seemed fair. Or the guy who got to dive into the pits at Milwaukee at about 120+ when the yellow came out just as he rounded 3 into 4? BIG advantage! At least we're not moving lapped cars down, back or out of the way yet...are we??

Ray Scar

Someone is always screwed by a yellow. Depending on the rules and timing either someone with a big lead has it erased or someone gets to do one less pit stop, etc.

Obviously safety dictates we must have yellow. My yardstick is always how much effort they put into minimizing the time spent under yellow. Any attempt to "keep it fair" is secondary to that. Any attempt to use a yellow to enhance the "show" changes the whole deal from sport to entertainment.
