I am currently am using IE 7 and I have just had it with how much it crashes. Is there anything better that I should be using instead and how easy is it to switch?

Firefox on PC and Mac. Very well behaved, and lots of good add-ons.
Quick easy download from here http://www.mozilla.org/. There are updates released fairly frequently, but they are optional and install very quickly with no issues.

And specifically, get the "IE Tab" add-on, for those handful of pages that still insist on using IE.

Firefox tip that I love - To have all of your favorite pages open in tabs when you start Firefox use the vertical delimiter (shift + backslash key) to separate the URL's in the browser options.
Example;
http://www.offcamber.net/forums/|http://www.cnn.com|http://www.ve3d.com|www.foxnews.com|http://www.google.com
Clicking the 'home' icon will open all of them up again however. They should include a detect. There is probably an extension for this but I'm too lazy to look through them.:)
Firefox by far. Opera has too many rendering issues, as it not widely supported by Web sites. Unfortunately FF has had a bad run of late, and have pushed numerous updates the past few mos. Fortunately 2.0.11 seems fairly stable. 2.0.6 and 2.0.7 were performance hogs. :\

I'd be concerned about it crashing all the time. It should be much more stable than that.
With that said, I use FireFox, but it's a giant memory hog. Exit it when you are done with it to free up memory and start anew.

I think is related to using the tab feature.

The tip from the Microsoft employee to see if an add-on is the cause of crashing may help you find the problem. Or the method to run as an Administrator.

Nappy, even TRAVELGAL uses Firefox so you *know* it has to be reliable, simple, and easy to use. I still have a variously corrupted version of IE6 on one computer to use an adjunct though because nearly ALL travel websites seem to use IE. Seems to work so far. :fingerscrossed:

On Mac OS 10.5 Safari 3.0 blows Firefox away.

Yep. My only issue with it is the slow load time.

IE only has a faster load time because it is part of the O/S. Can you say antitrust? ;)

Well I went ahead and downloaded Firefox and have been using it the last week or so. It has some good points and bad points vis-a-vis IE7. It is way slower the IE 7.
