When I was in Shenzhen I decided to visit the former Soviet aircraft carrier Minsk. I was the only westerner there and don't speak a word of Chinese, but there were several large Chinese tour groups. Before being allowed to tour the ship they sat everyone in a small theater and a film about the ship was shown. It was mostly grainy 1970's footage with a lot of spliced segments in it and it was all in Chinese, no English subtitles. LOL it would show the deck of the ship , then when a plane was being launched it would be an F-14 catapulting from the bow of a Nimitz carrier, then it would show a MIG in the air leveling off. It would then show the MIG fire a missle , then a Castle Bravo nuke mushroom cloud would be seen. Not sure what was being said on the film, but people would swing their heads and glare at me like I did something LOL.
