BTW, if you missed it in the Ladders forum, this is what MarkC apparently said:


Apparently the situation inside Champ Car is such that many of the teams are getting multi-million dollar subsidies in the form of free tires and engine leases from Champ Car. But if they take Matos with his $2 million, they do not get these subsidies... thus, taking less cash from a paying driver like Dan Clarke, added to their subsidies, results in an overall higher dollar figure.

Assuming this wasn't one of the 80% of the times that MarkC gets it wrong...

Maybe the teams won't be too pissed, since Uncle Kevin is still reportedly paying the bills. :p

Tires discounts are cool, but the engine thing has me wondering. Since KK owns the engines, it's rather an arbitrary monetary amount (above the obvious actuals) so if KK says they are getting a $2mill discount...who can disagree?
