Young guy with a young daughter, too.

He was in one of my favorite bad movies: 10 Things I Hate About You.

Signs pointed to a suicide or an accidental overdose, police sources said.

28-year-old Ledger was found naked and unconscious on a bed, with sleeping pills — both prescription medication and nonprescription — on a night table

When will these people learn... :shakehead

I know some people thought it was stupid but I liked A Knights Tale. The anachronisms were cool and the film was kinda goofy.

I thought that was a very funny movie, with some very clever writing in parts...I loved Chaucer...nothing like I imagined him from my English Lit days...:D

I had no idea who TF he was... Turns out he is from right here where I am. The media saturation right now is about at the point where I want to effect on myself that which he did to himself.

They just interviewed his former headmaster at Guilford Grammar school who fondly remembered his rise to fame. Give me a f'n break! You didn't know him from Adam! He was just another face in the crowd!

GET OFF IT ALREADY! :flame:

Well, that explains the Brokeback Mt. role. ;)

Reminded me of River Phoenix when I heard the news. :(

I think our society's obsession with celebrity says a lot about its current condition. People get more upset about a stranger on TV than the homeless man on the corner. Lame.

Reality. Catch it. :tony:

Poor Bon. Is he still having his plaque stolen by "fans" looking for a souvenir? :irked:

Sounds like he was hooked up with Elvis's old doctor.

The cause of death was "acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said in a statement.

In a statement released through Ledger's publicist, Ledger's father, Kim, said Wednesday: "While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath's accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage."

Taking multiple depressants (I am assuming that sleepy pills and jitter pills are depressants) can do that. Scary-easy, too.

Truth is he prolly took a whole boatload of each.

If it wasn't an overdose, it seems like he was taking multiple medications for the same problems. I doubt a doctor would prescribe drugs in that manner. For example, you don't take Tylenol, Aleve, Advil and Aspirin at the same time for a headache.

You are assuming a single doctor was involved. He probably had several MDs in different towns and he did not clue them in to what the other MDs were doing. It is a very common occurrence. The drugs on that list will kill you without taking an overdose if you take all six at the same time.

That's a pretty serious list of anti-anxiety pills. i wouldn't take even two of those together let alone all of them. If he didn't know those would kill him...whatever.

He should have had his prescriptions filled at Walgreen's. Their system automatically checks for harmful drug interactions. :tony:

I wasn't assuming the same doctor. I was saying that he didn't need to take a "boatload of each". He could've taken the prescribed dosage, but the problem being that a single doctor would not prescribe all that to one person. It wasn't a drug interaction, rather taking the same types of medicine for a similar problem.
