Yeah, but there will be lots of them and they're affordable. Isn't that what racing's all about? :yuck:
Anyone good at photoshop?

I can't get over the fact that this spec is completely arbitrary. They did not have to define it such that the cars would look like that. That they did says something very, very bad about their motivations or their preferences.

I heard that these can dust a stock 911 by 0.5 seconds a lap.
Truely one of the most hideous creations of all time.

It's definately a night fighter.
Grand Am's new slogan: It's all the same when the lights go out, baby.

I think Wayne Taylor is plotting to force Grand Am to adjust the spec by designing the ugliest thing possible and putting it on the front of the grid.
There is absolutely no reason for the DPs to look like that. You would think that somebody in Grand Am's marketing division would have the teeniest bit of a clue that they would attract a couple more fans if the cars were not such God awful lumps.
have some more pain.

WTF? They put a Multimatic nose on it? The first thing Lola did when they rebuilt the Multimatic was tear that off. Of course what they put in it's place doesn't look any better:

You're talking about the series whose Dear Leader opined that the average fan can't related to Porsches & Ferraris, y'know.
Fans? We don't need no steenking fans.

It's definately a snout. I just can't decide if it looks more like a pig, an aardvark, or an anteater.
One more possibility, I think I'll link it though. ;) link (http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/2551/themjnosepsd01gq6.jpg)
I am literally going to write in Dan Gurney for President. Is that political? It better not be, because if we can't talk about voting for Dan Gurney, then this place isn't worth a Grand Am ticket.
Interesting little tid-bit from the latest Motorsport magazine in an article about ALMS vs Grand-Am. Turns out that both of them competed at Laguna Seca last year.
Lap times:
LMP1 (gasoline) 1:11.175s
LMP1 (diesel) 1:12.785s
LMP2 1:10.528s
GT1 1:19.304s
GT2 1.22.880s
DP 1:20.787s <-- :gomer: Slower than a GT1...
GT 1:29.052s
Slow and ugly. What a combo.

Again - you're all missing the point. It's all about the competitors, not whether or not they provide you with something you like.
Sheesh. :gomer:

Yeah, you guys are right, road racing should be about spending imaginary money to make the cars into something that only a few thousand people cares about.
Is that actually worse than spending real money on cars nobody go to see on track?

Following on the resounding success of the COT in the Sprint Cup series the Frances turn their attention to relaxing DP wing restrictions for 2010...

I think they'll end up going with a bi-plane wing spec because of the growing influence of all those ex-F1pointycar guys hanging around NASCRAP these days.
