I was paid as an independent contractor for part of 2008. It was an LLC issuing checks to my LLC. Back when I had a clue about these things it was a 1099-MISC for anything over $600, but I get the impression that has changed.
I need to know how the LLC that has paid me reports any numbers to the IRS (if any). Is it just a line-item expense to them and no source document is generated? Is the LLC that paid me required to send any type of source document to me? I need to meet with my accountant next week, but wanted to get an answer in advance.
