If the IRL was smart, they would be promoting the heck out of this season as Andretti v. Rahal II (Electric Bugaloo). Why not trumpet the fact that two of the best American talents in awhile are racing in the reunited Indy Car series?
Is it because they have outdoor plumbing, while other drivers have indoor plumbing and ample blessings?

They're probably worried that Andretti will wipe up the floor with Rahal this year. If NHL becomes competitive, they damn well better promo the rivalry!

It's all about the Danicle vs. DNF vs. Milkers Duno, yo! Mebbe they can resurrect the Cat Fight promo Miller Lite did a few years ago? :D :tony: ;)

"I used to struggle on road courses, and then one day I figured it out. I just have not found that missing link in the street courses. I know I will – it is just going to take some time. The first practice session today did not go well. But thankfully the second session went much better. I know that the Motorola car will be strong come qualifying tomorrow. My crew has been working really hard to get the setup that I need."

Ah, so he's in the SAMAX car? A step up, I would think. Maybe equally likely to smash some parts, but less likely to take anybody else with him.
Removing Milka Duno from a race seat ought to qualify somebody for a safety award of some sort.

I call absolute BS on this. The CC site may not have been the best website ever designed in a general sense, but I have yet to find a better racing series site yet for actually quickly finding info. The IRL and NASCAR sites were clearly designed by disgruntled IT gnomes determined to prevent anyone from actually finding out anything useful.

The IRL and NASCAR sites were clearly designed by disgruntled IT gnomes determined to prevent anyone from actually finding out anything useful.
If you have to scroll down to navigate the site, that is not quick navigation. The newly re-designed CC site was worse than the previous site.
The site should load fast (it doesn't).
The site should allow easy navigation (it doesn't).
Is this the first time they've raced in the rain?
Is this the first time they've raced in the rain?
Yup. They just said so. Should be fun. I'll watch for a bit taking a break from yard work. Let the craptacular crapticle begin! :tony:

I wanted to finish watching the Formula One race, but I can't pass up on this.
edit: I hope these cars don't fly anymore.

Same cars. :saywhat:
EDIT: This thing isn't gonna start anytime soon...there's clearly standing water in some of the turns, which the idiots in the booth have ignored while they blabber on about other unnecessary crap. :shakehead

I know, but I was under the impression that they fixed something. I'm just not sure.

They've tried, but they still fly. Fact is they can't fix the problem until they get a new chassis. They should just tie strings on these things and call them crappy kites. :tony:

Was that a dryer I saw on the track?
Edit: Ah, sweepers!
Going green.

I vote that this thread be renamed "IRL Futility - St. Pete."
Classic terrible officiating - I'm flashbacking to Rain America 2003.
Fuel mileage runs, endless rain delay yellows, road racers... CART 2.0 Lite is truly complete.
I was going to say this is why I hate this type of racing, but didn't want to start anything.
Do they really have to run under yellow for this long?
RHR spins? I thought it was Danica actually.

Standing is a non starter period. Can't have that even in F1. Ethanol car is Rahole and RHR.

Danica now. She stalled the car.

There goes the savior of Champ Car. lol
Did he say timed race? How long before bankruptcy?
Poor Danicle.
-Kevin
Did he say timed race? How long before bankruptcy?
2 hours. Same as C^RT/CCWS. All things C^RT/CCWS are now the EARL, yo. except for a decent car or engine. :saywhat:
EDIT: it's starting to dry up. I wonder who will be the guinea pig to switch to slicks? I vote Danicle. :gomer:
Rahole/Power is a fun battle.
-Kevin
I'm having a bit of fun watching this battle between Graham and Will.
local yellow for Buddy.
Come on Justin. Put her a lap down.
Graham's doing a good job today.
Danica caution.
Aurally unappealing. Both the cars and the broadcast team.

Thats something new
The car isn't going to change in the near future. I like the competition going on right now. Probably because I'm rooting for the former CC drivers.
Sounds like Bruno is done.
Edit: Bruno is furious. Having a discussion with Dale Coyne right now.
Three car crash. Meria, Perera, and I forgot the other one. The other car got away though.
Will Helio get Graham on the restart?
Woo!!!!!!1 Graham wins!!!!!!!!!! :D
P.S. Ed Carpenter should quit.

Started poorly....,
But didn't end that way.
We've mentioned the starting under yellow nonsense, though I suppose the ESPN window was, unfortunately, a thought. The other bad call was the Danic... errrr, debris yellow. Yes, there actually was debris there, but not a FCY.
In spite of that, sorry, that was fun. Interesting stuff all race. And remarkable for Graham.

if the irl envisions it's self as a premier racing series, they need to get rid of the entire tv crew tomorrow,if not sooner, and hire some professionals. my ears start bleeding and i get 1% dumber everytime i hear goodyear or arute open their mouth. that was absolute brutal tv viewing.

hey redmist, if you watch the entire race schedule this year, the chances are you will end up with an IQ that equates to yer typical nascar fan.... heck, you may change yer name to Dale !
