As I opined in an earlier post, the groundings will roll from one airline to the next throughout the next few months. EVERYONE do the old fashioned "reconfirm your flight" before going to the airport, PLEASE!

The FAA yesterday grounded 24 jets operated by commuter airline Trans States Airlines because they did not meet safety standards. Trans States operates flights under American Connection, United Express and US Airways Express to 46 cities in 25 states. 108 flights were cancelled yesterday and the airline said all planes should be back in service by tonight. The airline had not properly checked an electrical switch that controls steering of the nose wheel. The airline found the problem during a self-audit and reported it to the FAA. At least 40 flights have been cancelled so far today.
