In the April 24 edition of Autosport, David Phillips profiled his top 10 Champ Car heroes (post-split).
10 - Justin Wilson
9 - Bruno Junqueira
8 - Jimmy Vasser
7 - Paul Tracy
6 - Greg Moore
5 - Gil de Ferran
4 - Cristiano Da Matta
3 - Sebastien Bourdais
2 - Juan Pablo Montoya
1 - Alex Zanardi
On Moore he writes:
When Moore's car slammed into the wall at California Speedway on October 31, 1999, racing suffered far more than the loss of this charismatic and supremely gifted Canadian. Anyone involved with the sport at the time well knows the devastation Moore's death inflicted on Champ Car racing, a devastation comparable to - and I choose my words carefully - that experienced by the motorsports world as a whole by the events of April 7 1968.
