Weird that Mr. Judd and A.J. Wallbanger are also in the top 10.

I wonder if the top 35 were running race setups. Maybe track conditions were better for the "go or go homers".

Hmmm...Com-par-tee-ay wins the pole at the Cup race closest to Quebecistan?

If NASCAR wasn't such a fine, upstanding organization, I'd suggest some tomfoolery might be afoot.

From a cab board,

Actually, it mostly had to do with the fact that these cars went out AFTER the rain......the track cooled and it was in better shape than for the first guys out.......as per several drivers and crew chiefs during the qualifying....

Way to go Patrique! The place is always loaded with francophones, so there should be some excitement in the stands.

I'll be there tomorrow either watching the race or getting struck by lightning trying.

As nice as this is, I keep wondering how many laps until a little bit of fender rubbin' puts good ol' Patwreck Carbender back in 43rd?

Patreek lead the first lap. :)

Actually he lead the first five battling hard with Harvick. He's dropped to third now.

I saw Allmendinger's name on the ESPN crawl while watching the Euro 2008 Final. He and a bunch of recent OWR drivers were in the top 10. Just looked at the results, it definitely did not stay that way:

31 Patrick Carpentier -2
32 Juan Pablo Montoya -2
38 Dario Franchitti -4
39 Sam Hornish Jr. -4
43 AJ Allmendinger -82

I saw Pat Carpentier giving autographs to a huge mob of Quebecois at his merchandise trailer. He also had a huge grin on his face as he went around the track during driver introductions getting the second loudest cheers next to Jr. Of course his day went downhill from there. He'll get another shot to please his countrymen when they go to Watkins Glen later this summer. I bet the track will see a bump in ticket sales because of that too.
