View Full Version : Forsythe Indy Lights!
Indy Car sez. Forsythe back to Lights full time in '09. Nothing said about Atlantics. I wonder.

According to the team’s announcement, the Indy Lights switch does not mean the end of its current Atlantic outfit, which fields entries for James Hinchcliffe and David Garza this season.
Is Fantasy Island on suicide watch yet?
Maybe FTG bought out PT's contract with Forsythe with (2) Jr. Crapwagons and a budget for next season. Probably a step towards Forsythe fielding an IRL team in 2010 with PT driving. :gomer:
So, if ALMS will sanction Atlantics would they buy it? I'm sure the for sale sign is up. Can't see KK or GF much giving a crap if they are firmly "merged." Don't laugh, I'll bet PT would rather race a Forsythe Indy Car than a Vision Racing Walker car so maybe the talks have already begun.:D (unless of course he wins 2-3 races before the end of this season.;))

How can you go back to a series that no longer exists? Or was the history of the original Indy Lights included in the "merger?"

I believe the common thought coming from the FTG camp is that anything with the word "indy" in it, belongs to 16th & Georgetown.... especially if it has 4 wheels on it.... not sure about the football team, or anything else there, but all pale in comparison to the "grate-ist specktickle in raysing"

Hell, I thought the IRL did that 11 years ago.

Thanks for reminding us that the IRL managed to make an UGLIER spec than the original Indy Lights chassis.
That deserves some sort of special award for chassis design. Emphasis on special.

Those original merdesleds are a work of art compared to the aardvarks they're running now.
I remember quite a few people circa '97 suggesting CART change the Indy Lights specs to match the then-new IRL specs. I've often wondered what would have happened had they done so.
I doubt IMSA would have an interest in buying the Atlantic series unless it was for a nominal fee. Hopefully they just sell it back to Pro-Motion for that nominal fee. It really doesn't need to be owned by Panoz or Forsythe etc. Atlantics had its best years under Pro-Motion ownership and Star Mazda is going quite well (commercially) under "independent" ownership.
Thank the divine spirits of Mr. Roarke and Tattoo that Pauly Poledance is still true to the principles of CCWS and meeting payroll obligations and other cool stuff like that.

Is Fantasy Island on suicide watch yet?no, they are doing about the same as the folks here on Lesbos.
Looks like Forsythe will field Indycar and ALMS programs as well ...
"We've got a Formula Atlantic deal this year and we're planning on going ahead with that, we announced the Indy Lights programme last week and we're looking at both ALMS and the IndyCar Series," he said.
