No more little racers2c (or is that racer2c's?) running around. He first stuck a needle in...I'll spare you all the details. :D

 Ouch, already too much information!
A friend of mine missed 3 days of work when he, ahem, had it done. Why on earth would you not schedule it for a Monday? :D

I'm going in sometime this summer. The pain of a sliced up bag can't possibly compare to the pain of a 3rd child.
My friend might go in at the same time so we can hold hands. :D

Guess you got that right if you are the one having the kid. :D

Speaking of bags, use bags of frozen peas as cold packs. Helps reduce swelling and it, ummm, fits your shape better than conventional ice packs.

Trust me, you won't be holding hands for long. :D
I don't even want to go into what happened to me. Let's just say the doctor that did me must have been giving the HMO I was in a discount, but the tradeoff was, he left his bedside manner AND his sharpest scalples back at his office. :flame:
At one point I was gonna have it done, but on the way to the DR's office I got sidetracked, and bought a new car stereo instead:D . Now that I'm single again, I'm glad I didn't get it done. I'm not planning on having anymore kids at this point, but if the right woman comes along, and she wants kids, at least that option is still open.
In other words...if the right one comes along, I'm at her cervix.:D
Hey this started going downhill with chop...blame him;) :p ;)

Kinda ironic that a person with the name "chop" would be responsible for the deterioriation of this thread, eh? ;)

Funny stuff guys! :D
All in all, it actually was a piece of cake. It took no more than 10 minutes and I've hardly need the Tylenol the doc told me to take.
It is strange to think that that's it though, no more kiddies. But it actually is reversible they say. There is a 70% chance of reversal in the first year and only a 10% chance after the first year. Plus, vasectomy reversal procedures are not covered by any insurance.
I took four days off of work, I probably could have gone back yesterday, but I drive a five speed and didn't want to, well, you know, aggravate things. :D

Just when you are having a crappy day and you go online, expecting TF to give you a good laugh and make you realize that your life isn't as bad as theirs..... You log on here and find the unexpected...A thread in a racing forun on a man "getting snipped".
Thanks for the cheering up and racer2c, I'm glad it wasn't too bad! :D

This my new favorite quote of the year
:D
Had mine done the Friday of Memorial Day weekend 4 years ago (Happy Anniversary to me) sent the wife and kids out of town til Monday night. Had a stack of movies, some ice, (and frozen peas), watched both races on Sunday, and walked gingerly for the next week.
I too had once cancelled, but when the guy who works across the hall got a phone call that they were having an "oops", my appointment was made within 24 hours.
The worst part was having to wear tighty whites for a couple weeks....boxers are soooooo much better.

I dont know why you guys are putting yourself through this. For those of you who listen to Bob and Tom, birth control IS ALWAYS the womans responsibility!!!!:D

I had it done after our last kid. It was no problem... or it woulda been no problem had I followed doctors orders.
I felt fine after getting it done... no pain whatsoever. The construction project I was running at the time required a lot of hopping up and down scaffolding... I felt fine so I just went about my job like normal a day or 2 after the cut. A couple days later it felt as though muskrats had knawed on my danglers while I slept.
A slight infection, some antibiotics, and an "I toldja so" from the doc had me back to feelin' peachy a few days later.
Rest, my friend, and all will be fine.
The hardest part was not being able to "release" for 10 days or so. When I am told to rest, I get on the 'puter. When I get on the puter, I invariably wind up looking for porn. When I find porn... well... you know. Stoopid movie clips!!!

You should try getting pierced........
And the way I look at it, I have 3 kids, so only 7 more until double digits.

For those of you lads that got the unkindest cut of all for fear of bringing more sprogs into the world I have one word for you..CONTRACEPTION..also known as MARRIAGE...
As for me? There isn't a chance in the world that a doctor is getting ANYTHING sharp close to that region...

I concur. The phrase "I do" followed by wedding cake is the ultimate contraceptive.

And then there are those of us, like myself, who had our last two children DESPITE contraceptives (one the female kind, one the male kind), and at that point you go to the doc and say "Look man, it's obvious my boys are much too powerful for common methods... let's do something a touch more serious here before I'm fielding my own baseball team."

You must be packing some serious ammo, WB.
A friend from high school, all 5'3, 110 pounds of him, fathered triplets several years ago. We call him "Magnum".
Have a friend who becames a daddy after the snip. Things got a little tense between he and the Mrs. following the realization that if he wasn't capable of doing it, then someone else did. Fetility tests set everyone to ease.
Told him it takes a REAL man to make those little *****ies jump that gap.
WB, you're a REAL man.

Maybe he forgot to empty the gun of bullets.
I had mine done first thing in the morning and didn't miss any work.
